08/06/19 Repair to Cooling System This past summer I noticed a warning light on the dash appear and I didn't know what to do. I pulled my car over and called Mears right away. Randy walked me through the steps so I wouldn't further damage the engine. I was able to get my car in right away and the problem was fixed. I also had new tires put on my car and a year later they were in bad shape. Kevin fought with the tire company who was going out of business to get me 4 brand new tires. They go above and beyond!

Mears is the only place I trust to take my car. I noticed my brakes were a bit squishy when driving my son to school one morning. Called Mears, got in right away and the problem was fixed. In my hectic life, I also appreciate the fact that Mears sends emails to remind me of services that are due.. My husband recently leased a car. Part of the lease package included free oil changes for a year from the dealership. We were honestly relieved when the year expired so we could now take both cars to Mears. Since I'm the one who usually takes my husband's car in, I love that I can now avoid the headache of the dealership. Not only was it a pain in the neck to schedule an appointment at the dealership, it was a pain having to navigate the constant construction and traffic near Keystone. What's more, I felt like the dealership always wanted to tell me something was wrong or sell me something. Mears is not only convenient, it's a place I know I can trust.

We discovered Mears in Carmel this year. Our neighbor told us about the place because she loves them so much, and we're happy to say that we feel the same. It’s a breath of fresh air to walk in and feel welcome and comfortable. Randy is very good at explaining what the car needs in a way that is clear and easy to understand. My husband has also dealt with them, and he had the same experience – they were honest and respectful. I would say the most helpful thing is that instead of just telling us everything needs to be repaired, these guys helped us understand what was important and what could wait so that we could make decisions. We were not happy going to the dealership we used in the past, because we always had the sense we were overpaying, or at least unsure if we really needed all the things being suggested. Both times we’ve dealt with Mears, we have come away feeling good about the experience. I feel comfortable saying I would recommend Mears to my neighbors and friends.

I prefer to replace my own car headlights, but our Mazda 5's headlights are exceptionally frustrating and difficult to deal with. I was very glad to pay Mears the amount they charged for parts and labor to replace them both.

Finding a reliable car repair company is tough! I work at Angie’s List and did a lot of research before I called this company. First of all, they offered me a rental car so I wouldn’t be inconvenienced for dropping my car off. I don’t know any place that does that outside of a dealership. They called me the next day to let me know what was wrong. They have to order the part so it is not completed yet. I will update my review when the cost and extent of the work is known. But so far I am impressed

They called the morning of the appt and let me know their assessment of the problem and gave me a quote to fix. They needed to order part so car might not be ready until Friday. They called me Wednesday to let me know car was ready to be picked up. Very good communication and will definitely use them again.

It went very well. They were very nice and knowledgeable. They had it ready in only a couple days and only charged for what they actually did. Overall, seemed very honest and reliable and I plan to go back again the next time I need auto care.

Very easy. They explained everything with great detail and performed the work for a very reasonable price.

Everything went as expected. There were no extra charges and the work was completed on time.

Working with Mears was great. I took my car in around 1pm and it was finished and ready by 5pm. They provided me with a free loaner car to drive so I didn't have to wait for hours at the shop. Kevin called me with an estimate before they started the work. The price was very competitive. Previously I only took my car to the dealership, but I will be using Mears from now on. Oh! They also helped me secure a piece of the car body that had come loose (from scrapping a curb) at no additional charge. Everyone was friendly and efficient. I felt very taken care of at Mears and my car is driving great.

The price seems to be in line with what everyone else is charging. They stand behind their work. I never had an issue with their quality.

They bought another organization that I was using and I pretty much started with them the first time they opened their primary location.

I have gone to these guys for years and they always take care of me quickly and will be honest and tell me "don't waste your money fixing this". I love this place.

Service was quality, staff was friendly but the price was high.

Called Mears in Carmel on a Monday at 5:30pm to get estimate to replace alternator. Dave was very professional and friendly. He gave me an estimate of the cost. He said they might be able to get to it the next day provided they could get the needed part. I asked about how long it would take to complete as my wife would be driving the car over the next day. He suggested that we drop the car that night and use their key drop box (they were closing at 6:00pm). He explained that with a bad alternator, there is a chance the car could die and didn't think it would be good for my wife to get stranded in such cold weather. When we dropped the car off at 6:10, Dave was still there and took care of us. The next day Dave called to verify that the problem was indeed the alternator that the car would be finished by 2:00pm. The total cost was what was originally quoted. Even though not cheap, they were cheaper than 2 other estimates by $40 and $180.

The work went well (at least the clutch is working properly during the past 4 months since the work was done). They told me in advance that there might be a slight overcharge in labor compared to the initial estimate if they had to drill out some bolts that may have rusted to the structure. This labor overcharge was approximately $45. The work was done on schedule. The manager drove me home in his personal vehicle when I dropped off the car for the work to be done.

The general manager was professional and polite. They worked me into their schedule and the repair did not take long at all. The waiting area is tiny and I was glad I brought something to read, but the facility is very clean, and they had water and coffee available for customers.

Dropped off the car in the morning and by 1:30 in the afternoon I got a call that they found the leaks in the service ports, replaced them, and topped off the R134a. $158 total. I'm a first time customer of Mears and would repeat and recommend to others.

On Wednesday, I called three Angie's List A-rated service providers inquiring about same day service availability and approximate cost to evaluate an intermittent auto A/C problem. I spoke with Dave by phone who was very polite, did not make me feel as though he was rushing to get me off the phone, and took the time to explain what protocol they would follow to try and find the issue with my A/C sometimes blowing cold air and sometime blowing hot air. He advised that they did not have time to look at it yet that afternoon, but could schedule me for first thing Thursday morning and would provide me a loaner vehicle, if needed. He advised they would need it the whole day and estimated the fee to be at least $120.00 to evacuate the A/C system and recharge it with freon containing dye. He said they would check the car for leaks and may or may not see the problem that day. Would probably send me home with the vehicle and tell me to come back when it started acting up again and they would look for the dye and leak again and proceed from there. I appreciated him speaking to me politely, honestly, and in a non-condescending manner. If they had been able to accommodate my last-minute need for a same day appointment (in an attempt to get my vehicle returned ASAP so I could pack for a ten day trip leaving Friday morning), and if I had unlimited income, I would have chosen this service provider.

We have a 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe with 151,000 that started to show a transmission problem. We where fearful that the transmission needed to be replaced due to the symtoms and what we read on the internet. We couldn't afford to replace it at the time, but were prepared to bite the bullet. Since Mears Carmel location was convenient and had an "A" rating on Angies List, I called and made an appointment. I got an apointment that was convenient for us and pretty quickly, too. Bob Pratt took care of us, and told us we could pick it up the next day. When he called the next day to give me the estimate, he explained the problems and what our options were. Considering the age, mileage and synptoms, one of the options was to replace the transmission. The least expensive option was without a warranty We opted to take the chance and take least expensive option. He said we can pick the vehichle up the next day. Well, the least expensive option seems to have worked. I commend Bob Pratt and his mechanics for doing a great job!

It was fine. It worked out good. It was convenient for one thing because we live not too far away from there and it was just putting tires on, so it was probably more of the convenience.

Rear turn signals and brake lights had been acting up. No rhyme or reason, and new bulbs burned out in a day or two. Joe and his crew knew where to look and what to do. Got us fixed right the first time. Electrical problems can be tricky, but they took good care of us. They also replaced motor and transmission mounts on our Honda Odyssey for about half of what the downtown tire stores wanted.

Repairs are almost always done on time. Just an honest reputeable small business that wants customers to come back. I highly recommend them. It is GREAT to find a good honest repair facility.
