We had ants. Big ants, little ants, shy ants, aggressive ants. I had exterminators come, but was told that if I didn't deal with the deteriorating wood on our house, we would always have ants. Husk and Paddock inspected the wood trim on our house, and gave us an estimate that was very reasonable. They removed the boards that were affected, fought a valiant battle against the largest carpenter ants that I have ever seen Thousands of carpenter ants had infested a huge beam that spans the width of our front porch. The beam was not visible from the outside, and John showed it to me before he removed it to be sure that I would not think that he was trying to be dishonest about adding work that had not originally been estimated. They replaced all the affected wood, caulked the whole house and painted the replaced wood. In order to replace some of the wood, they had to remove siding and gutters. They were able to reuse both of these without having to replace them. They did an excellent job-the house does not look "patched". The replaced wood looks like it has always been there. They even cleaned up their mess when they finished so that the only evidence that they did repair work is the absence of ants. The whole job took about two and one half days.
