We worked with Michael Strawn on our home refinance. We were concerned with the current market that we may not be able to do so now (we were told just that by another company). He walked us through the process and helped us find options that worked well for us. I felt he was working for us not for the "sale". He was very professional, knowledgeable, organized, and friedly.I would not hesitate to do business with them again or recommend to a close friend. We had a GREAT experience with Cathy Strawn at First Mortgage of Indiana. I really can't say enough positive things. I contacted LendingTree.com and then First Mortgage of Indiana just based on what I'd seen on Angie's List. Cathy at First Mortgage was the only person of the 5+ people/mortgage companies that contacted me who would give me solid, concrete info. Everyone else would only give estimates and that was very frustrating, but actually made the decision on who to go with easier--Cathy with First Mortgage of Indiana. Of the fees we paid, we will be getting much of it back from escrow, taxes, etc. Plus, the savings are so great, it's totally worth a few thousand. So, our overall, true, cost will actually be less than above. Cathy was professional, communicative, organized, friendly and just great to work with. She always explained everything clearly and answered questions. We always knew what was expected and there were no surprises. I will not hesitate to contact Cathy for any of my mortgage/refinancing needs in the future.

First Mortgage of Indiana is excellent. We worked with Kim Hockaday. Kim was outstanding about communication and working to get things done in a timely manner. She was very thorough throughout the entire process, and we were able to obtain an outstanding interest rate. At first I was leery about using a broker instead of a traditional bank, but in the end I'm extremely glad I did. I highly recommend this company to anyone buying a new home.

I read a review on Angie's List that said "I wish I would have talked to Michael before I even found a realtor". So we started the search for our home at First Mortgage of Indiana. Michael stayed past regular office hours to make that first meeting a better fit with our schedule. This was our first home and he was very helpful in explaining everything to us, respecting our limits when we knew what cost we didn't want to exceed. He was knowledgeable and extremely diligent when it came to follow up. I was impressed to get such personal service from the owner of the company. He recommended our realtor to us (who was also phenomenal) and made the entire process, from beginning to end, incredibly smooth. He showed up at our closing to congratulate us and make sure there weren't any last minute snags. Having him as a guide through buying our first home put our minds at ease. We've heard nightmare stories about house hunting from friends but we had zero problems. Michael and his team are fantastic! We could not have had a better experience.

Michael helped us begin by pre-qualifying us to look in a price range that fit our budget. We stayed in contact with him throughout the process until we found the home we wished to purchase. Prior to that, Michael had helped us prepare all the documentation that we would need to get our pre-approval letter. Once we had our home selected, it was as simple as handing in the paperwork he'd helped us document. He guided us through every twist and turn while offering his professional advice when we sought it. We had absolutely no hiccups throughout the purchase thanks in large part to Michael's guidance. He even made sure to remind us to use his coupon at closing for finding him on Angie's List! I plan to use him again when the time comes for us to expand into our next home.

Cathy is fantastic! Cathy was recommended by my financial advisor who has known her for many years, and she performed as expected. My previous refinance experience with a major bank, which was picked due to loyalty and neighborhood convenience, was three months long, many painful delays for loosly specified reasons, full of requests for additional information, and not really the best rate available. Cathy changed all that. The process was well defined, all options were clearly explained, there were no surprises, there were no gimmicks (like my bank tried to pass off this time around), and she negotiated with the lender to reduce my overall costs of closing by eliminating the normal need for a detailed walk through appraisal since my other conditions for approval were above normal levels. She will get you the best deal, period. She is professional, thoughtful, straight forward, performed on the promised schedule, and personable. You will be glad when you choose Cathy for your mortgage needs.

The process took a fraction of the time needed by large regional banks. Cathy provided a personal touch by explaining every document and it's purpose. She thoroughly explained the in detail, the data on the credit reports. I was amazed at how easy the process was. First Mortgage of Indiana earned there "A" rating. Coming into meeting Cathy for the first time, I had a medical procedure that was coming up. She knocked it out of the park by helping ensure we were closed on a reduced rate mortgage within 30 days. This was instrumental for us in getting ahead of the medical bills that would soon be coming our way. She was laser focused on getting ahead of the procedure with us. I can?t tell you how much that meant to us. Customer service that is rare these days comes right out of Cathy & team. Being organized is extremely important to helping things run well. But, I will tell you what, the swiftness, confidence and experience that they offer is exactly what we needed. I talked to a few other companies prior to going with Cathy too and you?ll have to trust me that in the end it was a minor difference and was completely worth it. Just don?t forget to bring in your Angie?s list coupon either. That helped make it a very easy decision to go with First Mortgage of Indiana. Michael gives you all of the information up front and walks you through the whole process. The major benefit of working with Michael is how easy he makes it. We had all of our approvals and paperwork completed long before our closing. Our realtor and the realtor of the seller both raved about how it was one of the easiest closings they had done because of the work Michael did. Kim Hockaday is a mortgage goddess!! I found Kim when I used other reivews on Angie's List to help me pick a Mortgage Broker. Since it was the purchase of my first property, Kim went through everything with me and explained the process and what I should expect. She gave me best and worst case scenario so that I would understand the big picture and be able to make the best decision for me. I went through a number of properties before I actually closed on one, which was a challenge, but Kim's patience with all my questions was tremendous! I learned a ton about mortgages and the process overall from her. I recommend First Mortgage of Indiana to anyone I hear of talking about home purchases!

I called this company because of it's ratings on Angie's List. When I first called I left a message on a Friday and my phone call was returned within 24 hours from Cathy on a Saturday. Cathy was very upfront about everything in the very beginning which I could really appreciate. She made the process from the start to the finish seem effortless. I filled out an application online and it was nearly 2 weeks before I heard anything back. I had actually contacted another mortgage company during that time frame. i decided to go ahead and proceed with First Mortgage of Indiana because of all the good reviews on Angie's List. Beacuse the underwriters for PHH Mortgage were an absolute pain, it took about 6 weeks to close on the loan from the time we lock our rate. I think it was easier to buy our house than it was to refinance. I don't hold this against First Mortgage of Indiana. Cathy did great once we got the ball rolling. Would recommend to anybody.
