GILLYS FLOORING BROKERS INC

This contractor was referred to us from our realtor. We ordered carpet and paid an $800 deposit. My husband was in contact with the contractor regarding delivery and installation. He received an email saying carpet would be delivered on Monday and installed by Wednesday. This was on June 9th. The carpet pad was dropped off that week but nothing else. The carpet was not delivered until Saturday, June 14. I was working at the house in the backyard. I came in through the kitchen to find a random person standing in the living room. He did not ring the door bell or knock or anything to try and let me know he was there. He said he was there to install the carpet. He was going through the different rooms to get an idea of what needed to be done. He started unloading the carpet in the garage and proceeded to knock over a brand new tile saw that we had purchased. He managed to put it back together and get it working. After he got the carpet in the garage he left saying he would be back Sunday morning. He never came back. He came one day the next week and laid some of the carpet pad. We had been in touch with his boss who had assured us carpet would be finished by Thursday, June 19. We went there Thursday evening and nothing had been worked on. At this point we were extremely upset and decided to arrange for someone else to install the carpet. We called another comp out of the Greenwood. They were able to come Friday morning and get everything done within a few hours. My husband had called the first contractor to let him know were dissatisfied with his service. He said he had no excuses and offered to pay the labor for the new company we had if we agreed to pay him for the remaining cost of the carpet. We unfortunately agreed and came to find out how awful this person really is. He went to our work site and told our new installers they had to stop working because my husband had lied and wasn't going to pay them. He told them he would give them future jobs if they cooperated with him to go along with his story. They called their main office who in turn called my husband. My husband went out and set things straight. The first contractor lied to my husband when he got there saying the new people were trying to rip us off. My husband told him to get off our property before calling the police and he left shortly thereafter. The second contractor told my husband what had been said and some other things the first contractor did while he was there.
