I purchased my laptop on my second trip and also an above range microwave. They lacked product knowledge. I purchased a laptop that I thought would suite my needs, but it did not. They did not want to take back the software for the laptop, but ended up doing so. My old laptop was under warranty. The laptop manufacture advised going to Best Buy to run a diagnosis test. Best Buy wanted $100 for this service, but it was under warranty. I then went to the Microsoft store, where they preformed the same diagnosis at no charge. Also, I went to check out my above the range microwave and did not have mounting brackets needed. Luckily, I noticed

I went in and took awhile to get a sales rep. When I got one, he wasn't really swift. We ended up going over to a desk and another sales rep was there. They seemed to be having computer problems and I felt like I couldn't get a straight answer. I told them what I wanted and they wanted to price everything else.

We have had problems off and on with one or both TVs not working.  The installer has been out at least six times to fix the problem and not admits he does not know what the problem is or how to fix it.  In addition, the new TV had a blown circuit board which was replaced by warrenty.  Several months later, the circuit board want out again and we were told that it would not be repaired at their cost because it was out of warrenty.  In fact, they suggested we buy a new TV at our expense!  When trying to reach the installers boss and the next up the chain in Minneapolis, neither would respond to our emails or phone calls.  We are now using a new installation company and will buy a new TV.  Best Buy/Geek Squad sold us a poorly designed system and a faulty TV and did not stand behind either.  We will never do business with either entity in the future.

I was also purchasing a range and microwave, but I ended up canceling the range and microwave.  What happened is that they promised me a date for all this to come in and the range was a sliding range.  It was kind of a special order which they failed to tell me.  They really shouldn’t have promised me that it was going to come in within the week or nine days they originally promised me.  So, I had already removed my range because I was taking it to my sisters so I was without a range.  They did provide a loner range after the first range came in and the installers broke the door.  So, I had to re-order it.  Then when the next range came in it really was the appliance itself that was not okay.  The door was askew and I had heard from the deliverers that the door was broke so I refused that unit also.  So, I am still without a range right now.  I believe that the salesman was very helpful in helping me choose the appliances and what I wanted, what really was the problem was promising that they could not fulfill.  Also, their very askew way of ordering.  When I would come back for some compensation they had to cancel the order and then we would get all these e-mails that our order is canceled.  We wouldn’t know whether that was true or if it was just their system.  Their system was really strange.  When they did compensations like give me installations they had to cancel the whole order and redo the order.  The microwave was lost and they didn’t even know where the order for the microwave was from.  It was just one thing after the other and I spent numerous hours waiting for the deliveries or pick-ups or going to the store.  It was horrendous.

I was not happy with them at all.  They had my computer close to a month.  That was probably about the fifth or sixth time that it had gone in and came back.  It still had the same problem.  It got damaged in shipping and they didn’t tell us that.  They lost all of our backup discs.  We bought the machine and warranty from them.  It is not convenient for us to get it to either of their locations.  It is about 20 miles in either direction.  Sometimes the machine had come back with some other problems.  My taxes are stuck inside the machine and we can't get it out.  The machine is four years old and they won’t provide another extended warranty.  If I don’t have it back there within 30 days of the pickup date, then I am stuck with the problem.

I spoke to a manager at the Noblesville, Indiana branch about this. Something they don't tell you when you purchase the Geek Squad warranty is once you use it whatever money you paid for it is gone. I bought a year extended warranty for my Plasma TV. At 13 months it needed to be replaced. The year warranty cost me $299 and they did not have the same model TV to replace my set; they had the next model up. I did not have 3-D on my original set but this one had 3-D. The promotion on the new one was that you get 2 free 3D glasses but since I was changing it under a warranty I had to pay for the glasses. I also had to pay another $279 to get an extended warranty on this one so to change my TV under warranty cost me $720. I will not use Best Buy again.

I had a really good experience at this Best Buy. They make you feel really special and they are very positive. The employees recognize you  and ask you about previous purchases. If I have any questions about my camera,  I can go in there and get help. Brian and Dominic are very knowledgeable with cameras, they have been helping me with mine. The staff go above and beyond to help what will benefit the customer the most.

First, back in July, it was very difficult to get someone in the car audio installation area to answer the phone. It was an enormous hassle to get an appointment, with numerous times I had to call back. Leaving messages for the installer to call me absolutely did not work. Well, a few days ago my car audio stopped working. Sound comes for just a few seconds, and then silence. So I thought I'd try Best Buy once more, to see if they could repair the deck, or at least determine what the problem was. I called last night around 5pm, and no one was answering the phone! I'm talking about the store switchboard! I tried 3 times, each time eventually getting a message telling me "goodbye". Today I called, and my call was forwarded on to installation. No answer. So they took my name and phone number assuring me that the installer would return my call. Three hours went by without a return call. So I call again. My call got forwarded to installation, and after what seemed like 50 rings, their system abruptly hung up on me. I then called right back, and the system immediately told me operators were not available, so "goodbye". I can't believe Best Buy is as successful as they seem to be with such poor ability to contact anyone at the store. I will not be making any more purchases at Best Buy. The experiences I've had with amazon.com are far superior. But I will need to find another installer, since amazon cannot provide that service.

No problem with the salesman.....he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The total cost was somewhat less than expected since I was given sale prices for such a large purchase. I had no problems with my in-store experience. I had arranged for delivery on 5-1-10 and was told I would be called between 7:30am and 8:30 am with a two hour timeframe for delivery......instead I was contacted the day before and told the delivery would be between 3pm and 5pm. However the delivery showed up at 1:30 pm. Normally this would be OK but because I had been notified the day before with the 3p-5p timeframe, I had arranged for other workmen to be at the house. It was a rather hectic and confusing time, not to mention I had to scamble and quckly empty my old fridge before I planned to do it. The delivery went smoothly. The installer refused to attach my dryer to my vent system stating that it was "unstable" (whatever that means).....he also refused to hook up the water line to my new refrigerator icemaker, stating they "didn't hook up copper or plastic lines because they might leak" but they did hook up other lines. Is there any other type of line for an icemaker? I guess he just didn't want to do it. My impression was this delivery crew just wanted to cut corners and move on to the next job......probably the reason why they were so early in the first place. I hooked up the dryer and icemaker myself (at least I know it was done properly). I have no problems with the store, the price, or the quality of the merchandise, but their delivery dispatching and installation leave a lot to be desired!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST! I left my computer with them on 12/22 and told them I was going to be on vacation and will pick it up on Jan. 2. That's a pretty long time to have my computer and fix the problem, so I thought. When I came to pick up my computer, they said that it wasn't ready and there were more problems to fix. The guy who waited on me was soooo rude! Just basically sitting there not explaining what the problem was, nor answering my question of why didn't someone call me in advance to let me know not to come in and get it? To make a very long story short, I must have dealt with over 6 Geeks through this process, and NONE of them were nice. They were each very short, not apologetic, and could not give me a definitive answer about when I could get my computer. I did realize there were major problems, but not one person was apathetic. The only person who even said they were sorry about my dilemma (finally) was Cliff, the store manager.

It went great! The staff was very, very informative and knowledgeable about the different characteristics and features of each different camera and didn't try to sell me the most expensive one! He even was able to tell me the best memory card to get and also recommended lithium batteries which have 7 times the normal life of a battery and he informed me that these were even better then the rechargeable ones that I was also looking at. Their price for the camera that I purchased was the same as another local store, but the cost for the memory card differed greatly, thats why I decided to purchase my camera from here. In trying my camera out, I am highly impressed with it! I can zoom in to take a picture and then zoom in even farther when I want to go back to look at it an the pixel quality never varies, it stays crystal clear!

"I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN." I BOUGHT 2 SPEAKERS FOR EXISTING SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM TO REPLACE THE BIG UGLY ONES. WE SCHEDULED A TIME AND I PAID $169 FOR INSTALLATION. THE COMPANY THAT WAS TO DO THE INSTALLATION CALLED & LEFT A MESSAGE. WHEN I RETURNED THE CALL THEY SAID NO DATE HAD BEEN SCHEDULED. I SCHEDULED A 12-5 TIME SLOT, BY 4:30 NO ONE HAD SHOWN UP. I CALLED AT 5, AND THE INSTALLER SAID PAPERWORK HAD BEEN SENT TO SOMEONE WHO WAS OUT OF TOWN & WE NEEDED TO RESCHEDULE! I WAITED 5 HOURS FOR A NO SHOW. TOO MUCH INDIRECT COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CUSTOMER & WORK PERSON. FOR THE RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENT THEY CAME JUST SLIGHTLY LATE.

PURCHASED W/D IN MAY 1996-SHE BOUGHT THE 4 YEAR WARRANTY, BUT NEVER RECEIVED THE PAPERWORK. WHEN SHE NEEDE REPAIRS DONE, SHE WENT THROUGH SEVERAL CALLS VERIFYING HER WARRANTY AND WAS THEN TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER COMPANY TO DO THE WORK.
