Description of Work: Went in hoping to replace four tires. The two rears were bald, and the front two had tread from 1/16th to 4/16th. I was quoted $54/tire, for 45,000 mile, I thought for Goodyear tires. (When I got home I found installed Riken Raptor tires made in Indonesia, which may be Michelin remakes, Traction A and Temperature A) With the mandatory add on fees, it came to $175 for two tires. I then asked that only the rear tires be replaced, because of the "add-ons." The service advisor then inspected the tires and told me I really should have the front tires replaced. I told him I couldn't afford it. He then recalculated the price for four tires and the total came to $290.00. I had had a quote from a competitor before going to Discount Tire and knew I couldn't beat that price. Four tires were installed within an hour. The price included all taxes and fees and lifetime rebalancing, rotation and tire replacement if destroyed by road hazards. Shoppers should be aware the price quoted over the phone does not include these mandatory add-ons, which I was told covered the cost of installation. I have been buying all my tires at Discount Tires for the past 20 years. They have always been very good about honoring the free rebalancing and rotation and give you the same professional service during the free visits as when you make $400 purchases. However, the lifetime rotation and rebalancing used to be an optional purchase, not mandatory. (Angies List: this should go below...but you don't provide reviewers cut and paste capabilities, apparently.)

 + -1 moreMy wife had an appoinment for a rotation. I had called on my way to meet her to see if they could get my vehicle in too. He stated on the phone that as long as I was in by 6:00 pm they would take care of me. When I arrived, they went out to check my vehicle's tires. He came back in and checked me and gave my some options for new tires since my tread was below the acceptable level. He explained the importance of proper rotation to me and I paid for four new tires. The guy working on my wife's car came in and showed me the two tires from the front that were in need of replacement. I ended up purchasing two tires for her. All toghether, we had a good visit. The company stayed open late until the job was finished.
Description of Work: My wife and I both took our cars in to get the tires rotated. We ended up purchasing two new tires for her car and four new tires for my vehicle.

 + -1 moreI have a maintenance contract with them so all I do is pay a onetime fee and there are no charges after that. I would recommend them to others and I would say that there is nothing that really stands out with their services when compared to another center I use but at the same time I have nothing to complain.

 + -1 moreHaving scheduled an appointment for 8:30 in the morning, I was impressed with how quickly, they got me in and out. It was under 45 minutes when I drove away. I had already ordered the tires (and made my appointment) online which I advise everyone to do. If you just walk in, they do accommodate you but have to take the people with appointments first, of course. Also, pre-ordering tires lets you take your time and compare different models and the attributes of each one. Very professional and friendly service staff!
Description of Work: I had all the tires on my 2006 Honda SUV replaced.

 + -1 moreI have been to Discount Tire in Carmel 3 times and I will not return. Each time I went in I was specific as to what I wanted and each time they tried to talk me into additional services and treated me like I didn't know the first thing about cars or tires. These are the type of auto stores people should avoid. Tires Plus in Carmel has prices just as competitive and the service is friendlier and they don't try to talk you into unnecessary repairs/services.

 + -1 moreI hit a pothole that bent my wheel rim. I called this Discount Tire location because they were close to my office. I asked how much it would be to replace the bent rim and they guy I talked to offered to look around to find me a used wheel rim so I wouldn't have to buy new. It took a few days to get the rim at the shop and I went in had them replace it on my lunch break. The B in responsiveness is because I feel like I was constantly calling for a status update on when the rim would be available for replacement. They said 2 days, and I didn't hear anything, so I would have preferred them to do a better job contacting me. Overall the experience went well and I would use them again.

 + -1 moreDiscount Tire (Carmel) removed my old tires and put on new tires. As soon as I drove away from their garage I noticed the tire warning light was still on. I returned to the garage and was told it was no problem and they manually turned off the warning light. I drove home and when I drove into my driveway I noticed the warning light was on again. I called Discount Tire and they told me not to worry and walked me through the procedure to manually turn off the warning light. I didn't drive the Toyoto for several days but when I did the warning light was on again. I drove back to Didcount Tire in Carmel and they explained that the tires has a couple of PSI too much in the tires and that must be the problem. They adjusted the PSI and manually turned off the warning light. The service person also said that Toyota cars have a difficult tire sensor and they always have trouble with them. I sure don't feel confortable with those explanations so if the light comes on again (and I'm sure it will) I am taking my Highlander to the Toyota dealer. I will never deal with Discount Tire again.

 + -1 moreI brought my 4WD vehicle in for a 5-tire rotation. They were ready at my appointment time and completed the work quickly, HOWEVER, they did my tire rotation incorrectly. I was immediately tipped off when I saw the previous spare on the wrong side of the car. I double checked with my manual and verified that they had done the tire rotation incorrectly. I went back into the store and asked them how they did the tire rotation, they responded with their standard 5-tire rotation, which includes moving radial tires from the left side to the right side and visa versa, which is against my vehicle's owner's manual. I showed them my owner's manual and they continued to explain/justify their own process and try to convince me of their way. They never once apologized, offered to correct it, or anything. I took the diagram of "their" way home so that I can correct it myself. There were at least 3 guys listening and not one of them offered a thing. I am planning on purchasing 4 more tires for my husband's vehicle within the next 2 months, and we will NOT get them there again.

Service rep tried to "strongly recommend" a different set of tires that were $50 per tire more (coincidentally, those were the only ones that they had in stock in the size I needed). He looked to see if any more were on order but couldn't confirm delivery date. The whole time he was waiting on me he was on a non-business phone call. I left and made an appointment with a different tire dealer.
Description of Work: Called company 12/8 to make appointment to have 4 new tires installed the following day. Was quoted a price for the tires.

 + -1 moreWe are happy with our tires. Discount tires matched a tire web site's price, so we were pleased with the price. However, we did have a bit of a problem at the start which was taken care of to our satisfaction in the end. I called Discount Tires on a Monday or Tuesday and they told me they didn't have the tires I wanted in stock, but they could have them in by Thursday at the latest. I explained that I wanted the tires installed before we left on a long road trip Friday afternoon, so scheduling was important to us. The tires were not in on Thursday, so they told me to plan to come in by noon on Friday and they'd be there. We got there as planned, and the tires weren't in. The manager handled the situation well by getting tires from a competitor down the street. They were installed by 4pm Friday.

 + -1 moreThe first set of tires were awful! I didn't like the way they rode and they were extremely noisy. My husband went online and the tires they suggested had terrible ratings. He called the company and they exchanged the tires for some others, the cost was only an additional $20. The new tires were much better, I only wish they had recommended these new tires in the beginning it would have saved me lots of time. The staff was friendly. I would go back.

Not only did I get a fantastic price, they also gave me credit towards my old tires and applied that as free lifetime warranty against puncture, blow out etc. Great deal.

Description of Work: They went above and beyond! I went for my free service of rotating and balancing the tires. Later that day I was driving and the car started shaking like there was something wrong with the tires. I pulled into a gas station and called Discount Tire. They told me to stay put and someone would come and take a look at the car. Someone was there to look at the tires within fifteen minutes of my call.

 + -1 moreI had taken the van to the Wal-Mart in Westfield for an oil change and tire balance and rotation. The Wal-mart employee declined to balance and rotate the tires and told me that the front tires were badly worn and needed to be replaced. (Even though this report is for Discount Tire, I am happy the Wal-Mart people informed me of the problem and didn't just balance and rotate the tires to get my money without telling me about the problem). I took the van to Discount Tire and they confirmed the problem. I selected 2 new tires and left the van at the store. When I checked back about 3 hours later they had installed the new tires. They also inspected and properly inflated the tires of my wife's car when she brought me to pick up the van at no extra charge.
Description of Work: They replaced the two front tires on my 2001 Toyota Sienna van.

Description of Work: I had a tire with low pressure. I told him them I had a problem, and they checked my tires and filled them up. The problem ended up being a very minimal leak in the valve stem which they replaced at no charge.
