My experience with Central Paving of Indainapolis is not a good one, I have been an Angie's List paying member for the past 12 years, until such time as payment was no longer required. I have relied on Angie's List for reputable, honest, professional, knowledgeable, businesses from which to choose, to employ when I needed professional work performed on my home, my yard, ect.Central Paving of Indianapolis was one of the businesses on the list. That is the only reason I hired this company to perform the work. I wanted a company I could trust to complete the job with a satisfactory outcome. Let me begin by saying that I hired them to perform the following: sealcoat my driveway for which a written estimate was provided, and 2 repair culvert pipe at the driveway ditch for which a verbal contract was provided by William, the sales representative, Sealcoating was applied in two way: sprayed one part of the driveway and used a squeegee on another, causing two different shades of color on driveway. The edges of driveway where they used a squeegee dried darker color than middle of the driveway that was sprayed. The driveway appeared unevenly sealcoated, which looked like more sealer on some areas than others. Thank God I did not pay for the work when finished because William told me he would bill me. I also had work done on the culvert pipe crack that needed repair. The repair, that was orally agreed to, was as follows; a metal plate would be placed at the end of pipe and the seal over using hot asphalt would be applied. What they did instead was to place a plastic bucket inside the area of the pipe needing repair so that water could continue to flow through. I question the efficacy of the repair at the time and asked if that repair would be guaranteed and supervisor at the site said yes. I called William at that time for assuarnce and he told me it would be. My concern was that since the culvert repair was not in the written estimate, how will I know that the guarantee would be honored. He said he was going to bill me and that the guarantee will be included in writing at the time of billing to which we both agreed. The culvert pipe repair was performed several weeks before the seal coating. The problem with them began when the seal coating was completed and they wanted me to pay Roy, the person who applied the seal coating. I told Roy who called Kathy, the business owner, that I had been told that I would receive a bill. My unsatisfactory rating for them is rooted in the following: 1) they did not want to guarantee the culvert pipe repair in writing after assuring to do so. 2) the resisted the two shades of seal coat problem. 3) It took refusal of not to pay until the seal coat work was corrected and the repair work guaranteed in writing as promised, for the second seal coat to be applied. The driveway is still not uniformly seal coated after the second application. 4) Adding insult to injury, the sealer continues to come off driveway in some areas. 5) Kathy has refused to come out and see first hand what is going on even after receiving pictures from me. She has given me a range of excuses ie..the driveway was old: that I was told the driveway needed to be replaced. If in fact that was their assessment, why did they not provide a detailed estimate for that work? When they gave me an estimate it was never communicated with me, orally or in writing, that my driveway needed to be repaired. My driveway was in good condition. I am sure they would not have seal coated if it were not.
