Requested an estimate to sealcoat my driveway but never heard back from them.

Very disappointed in selecting Central Paving to improve my home with a rework and addition to my driveway. Workmanship and customer service has been a mess. The job done looks very poor and certainly has not added to my home's curb appeal or value. We had a asphalt extension and rework done to our prior home and it was beautiful! It was solid black, smooth, and rich looking. I couldn't stop looking at and telling everyone about it. However, this time it looks terrible. It has a big gray spot in the middle of it, big scrapes, and a big brown dirt looking line around the edge of it that I can't power wash away. I told/asked the sales rep. William about it within the first week after the curing time and could be used. After calling him many many times to get an answer I have only received excuses and now no response. It took all summer of me calling him to get scheduled (a customer shouldn't have to do) and received excuse after excuse of why it hadn't been done. I have wasted way to much of my time, energy, and bad feelings on this small home improvement project, and the improvement part didn't even happen...

William was great to work with! The driveway looks great! They got me on the schedule in a timely manner even with all the rain that we have had lately. If you want a quality job by a quality company this is it.

I am writing this review due to lack of Central Paving's responsiveness, communication, and follow-up. I called in early March 2021 and reached the answering service. I gave them my contact info and explained what I needed. I was told they would get back with me to schedule an estimate. Five days later, I received a call while at work that she was there to do an estimate. I explained what I needed via the phone. Initially, she said she would leave an estimate at the house for me. Near the end of the conversation, she said she would email me the estimate in the next few days. She had my contact info from the answering service. I did not receive an estimate either at the house or via email. After a couple weeks, I called her on the mobile she had used to call me. She said she was having trouble with her email. She told me she was driving to a job site and asked if she could call me back when she arrived in five (5) minutes to discuss and get my contact info again. I am still waiting for that call! I never received any follow-up or estimate. In the meantime, another company completed the project to my expectations.

Everything went well, and the price was reasonable. The driveway looks so much better.

William came out to do an estimate. I got a couple more estimates, then decided to hire them a few days later. That was 9/14/20. A month later, I am still waiting on them to start the work, and it may be too late for the year. Contacted William via text to ask when it would be scheduled. He responded that I was at the top of the list and would be done within the week. That was 10/6. I texted him again, but no response. I called their answering service and left a message for someone to call back, but again no response. Not impressed.

They came out quickly, texted me he was coming and his bid came in less than a company I used a couple years of ago.

September 26, 2020 Central Paving of Indianapolis Performance Review My experience with Central Paving of Indianapolis was not a good one. I have been an Angie’s List paying member for the past 12 years, until such time as payment was no longer required. I had relied on Angie’s List for reputable, honest, professional, knowledgeable, businesses from which to choose, to employ when I needed professional work performed on my home, my yard, etc. Central Paving of Indianapolis was one of the businesses on the list. THAT’S THE ONLY REASON I HIRED THIS COMPANY TO PERFORM THE WORK. I wanted a company I could trust to complete the job with a satisfactory outcome. Let me begin by saying that I hired Central Paving of Indianapolis (CP) to perform the following: 1. Sealcoat my driveway, for which a written estimate was provided. 2. Repair the culvert pipe (at the driveway ditch) for which a verbal estimate was provided by William, the sales representative. Sealcoating was applied in this way: They sprayed one part of the driveway and used a squeezy on the other, resulting in two different shades of color on the driveway. The edges of the driveway where they used the squeezy dried to a darker color than the middle of the driveway that was sprayed. The driveway appeared ‘unevenly seal coated’ which looked like there was more sealer on some areas than on others. Thank God I did not pay for the work when finished because William had told me that he would bill me. I also had work done on my culvert pipe crack that needed repair. The repair, orally offered and agreed to, was as follows: A metal plate would be placed at the end of the pipe, and a ‘seal over’ using hot asphalt would be applied. What they did instead was to place a plastic bucket inside the area of the pipe so that water could continue to flow through. I questioned the efficacy of the repair at the time (the plastic bucket) and asked if that repair would be guaranteed, and the supervisor on the site said “Yes,” it would be. I called William at that time for assurance of the guarantee and he told me the repair is guaranteed. My concern was that since the culvert pipe repair was not in the written estimate, how will I know that the guarantee would be honored. He said he was going to bill me and that the guarantee will be included in writing at the time of billing, to which we both agreed. The culvert pipe repair was performed several weeks before the seal coating. The problem with Central Paving of Indianapolis began when the seal coating (of two different shades) was completed and they wanted me to pay Roy, the man who had applied the seal coating. I told Roy, who called Kathy, the business owner, that I had been told by William that I was going to receive a bill that would include the written guarantee for the repair of the culvert pipe. My unsatisfactory rating for CP is rooted in the following: 1. Didn’t want to guarantee the culvert pipe repair work in writing after assuring to do so. 2. Resisted correcting the 2 shade seal coat problem. 3. It took the refusal to not pay until the seal coat work was corrected and the repair work guaranteed in writing as promised, for the 2nd seal coat to be applied. The driveway is still not uniformly seal coated after the second coat of sealer was applied. 4. Adding insult to injury, the sealer continues to come off the driveway in some areas. 5. Kathy, the owner of CP, has refused to come out and see firsthand what is going on even after receiving pictures from me. She has given me a range of excuses ie the driveway was old; that I was told that the driveway needed to be replaced. If in fact this was their initial assessment, why didn’t they provide me with a detailed estimate for the work? I received ONE written estimate from CP where it was never communicated to me, orally, written, implied, or hinted that my driveway needed to be replaced. My driveway is in good condition, and I would conclude that they would not have seal coated it if it were not.

Excellent. They are very busy so it took several weeks to get into the schedule, but I advised up front that I had no urgency. Ray Gandette's team did the work. Could not be more satisfied.

I was kept uptodate and when slot opened (busy season) the drive was completed in predicted time frame

Central Paving did a great job. I was very pleased with the detail they paid in prepping my drive before asphalt was laid. Very professional. I would highly recommend this company.

It went well except for the clean up. I was told they would return after muddying up my garage with the steam roller but I never heard from them again. I would not hire again.

Asphalt driveway

The work is fantastic, and the experience was phenomenal. We actually asked Cathy, the owner, to come out and give us an estimate almost a year ago, but then had to make another, more urgent repair and had to wait on this one. When we were ready we contacted Cathy and she sent her crew out to get started. The workers were considerate, clean, and immensely talented at their jobs. They broke up all the old concrete and hauled it away, and set up the framing for the new work. The weather wasn't cooperating so they had to come back a few days later to pour. The new concrete is amazing. We asked for a brush finish and it looks fantastic. They went the extra distance in repairing old areas that time had adversely affected. They encountered a couple of surprises and navigated them flawlessly, and they cleaned everything up at the end of each day. We can see the care they took everywhere we look. We very highly recommend Cathy and her team!

I requested quotes from multiple providers through Angie's List. William from Central Paving was the quickest to respond and did the best job of following up. He also did a great job describing what would be done and setting the proper expectations. The team that did the job were punctual, communicated well, and did a super job bringing my driveway back to life. I will definitely be calling them the next time I need my driveway resealed.

They didn’t bother to call.

The weekend of 4\6 I called them. They called on Mon 4/8 said someone would contact me. On 4/10 I get home from work there's an estimate in the mailbox. I called them the next day and asked how can someone give an estimate when they never talked to me to find out what the job was. Waited several days no call back. Finally I call the mobile number listed. I talk to the owner Karen. She tells me William will call me right back and if he doesn't she will personally come out and do my estimate. Several hours later he calls me and we set up an appointment for 11 am on 4/20. I call him around 10 am to let him know I'm home from my eye appointment. No answer so I leave a message. No call no show. I call the owner. No answer so I leave a message. Monday afternoon I call the owner again since she hadn't called me back yet. She claims he called me but my voicemail was full. I erase my messages as soon as I listen to them. William calls me back and says he might be able to make it I get off work at 9pm during the week or he'll be there on Saturday 4/27. Again no calls during the week or on Saturday. Obviously they do not feel my time worth anything and they have no interest in doing my paving.

Prompt to appointments, professional crew that did the work in a highly expedient manner. Follow-up customer service was the BEST! Driveway was uneven, with several holes. It is now smooth and looks great. Holding up well during the first winter blast of '19.

Had a great experience with this company they exceeded my expectations . The final work speaks for itself. We've had many customers complement us on how nice the lot looks! Mike was a huge help in getting this project done and allowing me to not babysit every step of the way.

Outstanding company to deal with. Best price and service!!! We had a near 10,000 square foot driveway put in and we couldn't be happier. Professional staff and crew were most helpful to make sure we got what what we needed.

Central paving completed a large project for my family and far exceeding my expectations. The attention to detail is unmatched, they clearly hire qualified and professional employees and the final product speaks for itself. Would recommend to anyone.
