I got on the web and found that Carmel Welding is an official Stihl repair shop. I took my string trimmer in to Carmel Welding on Good Friday and on the following Monday I received a call from a very nice young lady at Carmel Welding letting me know that my trimmer was ready to be picked up. When I arrived at Carmel Welding to pick up my Stihl Trimmer, I was greeted by "Scout" who appeared to be the shops mascot. My trimmer was brought out, I paid,my bill and started up the trimmer. It came to life like it did many years ago.

They cut a sump pump lid that needed to be altered from the original lid, to fit a new system that I had installed. They had to make 3 cuts to a specific measurement so the lid could slip over the pipe areas. They were precise with the cuts, and the job was completed within 24 hours.

Well, I was charged $45.00 for a repair that probably took two minutes to complete. I had to call them to see if the job had been completed (they had it for almost 3 weeks).
I don't know about welding.... but the price seemed pretty steep. The service was sketchy, although they must be reputable.

My mower worked fine. However when I went to start my snow blower for the winter it didn't work. I called the owner and asked him to fix it. He said he would fix it if I brought it in. I told him he should come get it to fix it becauser I had already paid for it last time. He said I did not. Now he its telling me that my options are to bring it in myself, or pay them more to have them come pick it up.
Response from Carmel Welding Supply Co Inc
"I have included a copy of the invoice. She claimed it was approx $450.00, wheras it was $245.75 incl. tax. This work was performed in March of 2013. She verbally agreed the snow blower performed well when she received it back. It sat unused for approx 9 months. She told me she couldn’t get it started now. I provided her several tips on how to get it started. She said she relayed these tips to her husband but they didn’t work. I asked her to have her husband call me but he never did. I offered to look it over at no charge, and let her know what we find. We did not charge her pickup & delivery the first time. I told her it was up to her to get it into us, or pay for that service. This is a small machine, approx 75 pounds"

I am new to the area and was in need of a welder to repair my car Drivers Seat . I had done a little research before time and seen that Carmel Welding Supply had some good reviews . So I decided to give them a try . I already had the seat removed from the car and took it to them to get there opinion . I wasn't even sure that it would be something that they could repair since the metal that was there was thin and and not the easiest to get to in order to weld it . When I arrived they were very courteous and made me feel very comfortable . The gentleman came out to my truck and looked at the seat to see what the problem was and to see if they would be able to repair it . After looking it over he said he would be able to fix it for me . I asked what he thought the price would be and he quoted me a price, which was reasonable and they did stay within the quoted price . I asked when he thought he could have it done and he said he could have it done that same day since it was something that I needed right away. When I arrived later that day to pick it up I found that it was repaired and looking as good as new .
I am very pleased with the work they done for me .

It's friendly good. I don't like the waste of time that it takes because they're so busy. They're nearby and I bought 3 mowers from them and so they are familiar with the equipment and they do quality work.

The quote was $189, my final will was $386. I called the owner and asked why they performed additional repairs that I didn't authorize, they said that was not their policy to call first. I will never use them again.

When we first needed it (in the winter's first good snow), it wouldn't start, and by the sound of the voicemail message we got when we called, Carmel Welding was swamped (understandably...it was a pretty heavy snow). It took a while to get someone on the phone. Over the course of the next several hours we spoke with three people who suggested various remedies. All of them focused on the fact that we had not run the machine since we purchased it in November, 2011, and that it was likely bad gas (since today's gas uses ethanol, which, we were told, turns to essentially sugar, which clogs the carb jets, which keeps it from running). We tried multiple fixes, none of which worked.
I can't shovel like I used to due to knee problems, and we paid $75 to a company to come and clear our long driveway.
Bill Jr. (owner, Carmel Welding) was very nice on the phone, and completely professional. But there's no good way to feel about a brand new $600 snowblower that doesn't run, or about the $75 we spent to get the driveway shoveled. I asked Bill if there was any sort of consideration he was willing to give in terms of the pickup/delivery fee, and he asked how we got the unit home. I said that his company had delivered it, and took that to mean that we'd received free delivery. I asked if there was any consideration to the fee, and he said Cub Cadet would not cover it.
Carmel Welding sent a flatbed truck to come and pick up the snowblower, and then a couple of days later returned with it. In a plastic baggie on the snowblower was a black cap for the fuel tank. I asked the gentleman who returned the unit what the cap was for and he said it was the old part. It turns out there was something wrong with the cap (not the gas, and not our negligence for not running the gas out, or putting an additive into it as was originally suggested) that was keeping the unit from running.
It starts just fine now, and I'm glad to have it, but it cost me $72 to get a new cap (and another $75 to get the driveway cleared). Not a great experience, and I'm hopeful that I don't have to pour more money into it.

The quote I was given for this job was less than half of the final cost. It is an older plow, and the company had to modify, or fabricate a mounting bracket for it. They did not use the specific dimensions given by the manufacturer of the plow. It is mounted a few inches too low, making it very dangerous. I can not angle my plow while driving without dragging the corner on the ground. The wiring harness is also not correct for my truck. I have taken it to two other places, and was told that it was mounted incorrectly, and that it is dangerously low. I was also told they would have been able to do the job for the original quoted price (around $800). The owner has said he would fix things for me, but it will cost me even more. The mount was very well constructed, but it's height is what is causing the problems.

I have bought several Stihl products from Carmel Welding in past few years and would not go anywhere else. Great people to work with on getting parts and buying new equipment. One of the few places left that you can get parts for that old mower or small engine.

I had metal patio chairs that matched a table. They were very high quality and had wonderful scroll-detail. The problem was they had NO seats. I decided that I wanted permanent bottoms made for the chairs. I took them to Carmel Welding and asked them what they could do. I shared with them my idea. They drew me a picture and told me what they could do. I agreed and paid a deposit. They unloaded the chairs and in a week, they called me and told me they were finished. They loaded them back into my truck and I paid the remaining amount. The chairs are now useful and could last a life time. There is nothing to rot or wear out. The quality workmanship was excellent. I was very satisfied.

They had charged me for 55 feet of angle iron when they only gave me 27.5 feet. They charged $50 just for cutting which I feel is a lot for 10 slices. When I called them and told them that they double charged me they told me that I got what I paid for. I had never bought iron before so I didn't know what to expect. I felt like they talked to me like I didn't know anything or like I just didn't want to pay the bill. They won't even consider that they may have made a mistake.

"We had three people working on this job, and all three of them confirmed she received the metal she paid for. (Member name removed) even confirmed before she left the shop. Yes, we moved out equipment so she could pull her car into the shop because there was a thunderstorm at the time. We would never attempt to provide a product or service without the full intention of providing 100% satisfaction. (Member name removed)received exactly what she ordered. It's too bad she is disappointed, but received exactly what she requested. Bill"

I called and explained my problem to someone named Kevin. He was very understanding and knowledgeable, explaining that he had dealt often with similar mailbox situations. Unfortunately, he could not come out to my house immediately because the truck with the mobile welding equipment was in the shop getting a new transmission. However, he called the next week when the truck was repaired, and he came out soon thereafter to fix the mailbox. I watched him do the work, and he was terrific. He not only welded the parts together, but he also ground away rust and debris from the post; and he cleaned up the work site completely. I was very satisfied with the experience and would use Carmel Welding again if the need arises.

They repaired my snow thrower. It took them over 2 months to complete the job. After i picked up and returned home, I noticed there were bolts not screwed in on the cover. Thankfully i had bolts so the cover wouldn't keep coming off. also the counter staff took their sweet ole time in serving the customers in line.
Response from Carmel Welding Supply Co Inc
"Carmel Welding is committed to providing the highest quality service in our industry. In this case, the customer requested we diagnose the problem with his snowblower and call him with an estimate. We had a technician disassemble his equipment as needed in order to find out what the problem was and what it would take to repair it properly. The customer agreed to pay the minimum $30 bench fee to have this done. We determined the problem, and called the customer with an estimate of $170.00 to have his snow blower repaired properly. He was informed that the $30 bench fee would be absorbed by our company if he authorized the repair, and, his repair bill would be $170.00. He declined having the work done and did not want to spend any more money on the repair or reassembley of the equipment. He agreed to have the equipment diagnosed for a minimum fee, and, he also agreed to receiving the equipment back in a disassembled condition because he did not want to spend any more money on it. We would have gladly reassembled the unit in it's original, non-working condition, at the normal shop labor fee, had he asked us to. Considering he did not authorize us to spend any more time on it, he received it back in a semi-disassembled condition."

I called them after 3 weeks to find it was finished. The trimmer works well but they did not call with an estimate of repairs, I would have bought a new trimmer instead of repairing this one. I felt like I was bothering them to bring my business there. I have found another company that provides the service I appreciate and am willing to drive farther for it.

I contacted Carmel Welding to inquire about availability of the Cub Cadet garden tiller. Bill Jr. responded promptly and answered all my questions via email. I arrived at the store and Bill Jr. was very nice and accommodating despite the fact that he was very busy with other customers. Everyone I came into contact at Carmel Welding was nice and helpful. Their place is a bit cluttered, but who cares !! they stock a lot of power equipment for your lawn and garden and I would be surprised if you couldn't find it there. My only surprise is that I would never have thought to look for a garden tiller at a place called Carmel "Welding" . I found out they were a Cub cadet dealer on Cub Cadet's web site. Bottom Line: The price was better than any other place, Bill Jr. and his crew are nice guys and I will most certainly recommend Carmel Welding to anyone.
Response from Carmel Welding Supply Co Inc
"Thank you for your nice response. We are glad to hear you were satisfied with your purchase and experience here. I agree we need a larger showroom and better displays, but, like you said, if you don't see it on the floor, we probably have it in our warehouse."
