BULLDOG PAINTERS

There were serveral delays in the start of the work due to rainy weatther.  This project took about a week to complete with 2 - 5 guys working on the project depending on the time of day.  They were very slow in the work that was done, and spent much of the day sleeping under the trees in our backyard.  Bulldog painters would schedule a time for work to begin, and then not show up on time,  If the workers were there on time they would complain that the gate was not unlocked so they couldn't start work as scheduled.   We were actually home, and they never came to the door to let us know that they were there to do the work.  At different times they would need to use the hose for water, but would then leave the water on and not turn it off when finished.  Just letting the water run for an hour or more at a time.  I did talk to Mr. Eaton on sevarl ocasions during the week, and he would stop in and talk to them, but not much would change in the behavior of his employees.  Upon contracting with Bulldog painters we were to have the fence stained with a sprayer, and then gone over with a brush to get into all of the small places. At the time the work was done they only brushed on the stain, and did this without discussing with me first.  Since this time we have seen the fence with peeling stain all over, and in many of the spots between the boards, and gates. We have been trying to contact Bulldog painters and Mr.  Eaton for the last 4 months and have been only able to reach him once directly.  He stated " I will call my Sherwin Williams Rep, and get back with you as soon as I can".  This was 2 months ago.  Under the sales receipt it states a 2 year warranty, but havent been able to contact him again to discuss the situation.

My overall experience with them was good. They were punctual. They could get the job done when I needed it and I was happy with the results.

The whole process took a little longer than we had anticipated. We got the estimate very quickly and they were able to start within the next week. The only hiccup was an uncertainty about when they would return to apply subsequent coats of paint. We always had to call them to find out when they'd be back and I wish it would have been communicated ahead of time. We are very happy with the finished product and would reccommend them.

We were very pleased with our service. Joe Zupan was a pleasure to work with. He was easy to reach and was very determined to have the house look the way we wanted. He did not except payment until the job was complete and to our liking. He was at the house overseeing the project everyday during the painting process.

Dave Eaton of Bulldog Painters came out to determine the best method to revitalize the cedar boards/siding (complete exterior) of our home to keep its natural color. He had a product rep come out to give his input for his recommendation for products and the best application to use to determine the final contract price. They tested an area of our garage wall to make sure it was what we expected before we signed the contract for the entire exterior of our home and decks with built-in benches. WOW!!! What a difference! They powerwashed with a wood brightener and applied two wet coats of a clear oil based wood protector. For a home that is over 30 years old with basically nothing done to the wood siding or deck, it was truly a wonderful experience seeing the improvement. Dave and his crew did an outstanding job. The owner who came out was professional. The actual workmen who did the work were a little less than professional. The biggest problem was that the workmen didn't clean up well after themselves but I think that was more the workmen's fault and not the owner's. Also, their price was the highest out of the 3 quotes we received. They did a good job but their price was the highest of the 3. I would use them again.

Shaky. The window sales rep convinced us to order bare wood windows rather than the factory primed. The workers were consistently late arriving on the job and did not seem to understand exactly what was needed. The job did have to be completed in two parts. They completely missed their appointment to begin the second part of the job. Dave said they had been delayed on another job and didn't have our phone # to call us. After the job was supposedly finished we had occasion to have our windows open and from the outside noticed that large portions of the windows had not been painted at all! We had to reschedule the company for a touch up job which required taking another day off work. The touch-up took another full day.

Worked with me to perform the work after other contractors were in and before we moved in. Most of the work done was done really well, and they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. The exceptions are replacing window treatments and outlet covers (didn't do for most of the house. It was also not clear at the time of the estimate, that closets were not included.

Came right away and gave me an estimate which was very reasonable. Gave me a time frame for completion and did just what they promised. Workmanship was excellent as it's difficult to repair textured ceiling. They did an great job.
