Description of Work: Took vacuum to store for belt replacement. They questioned my judgment as to how I determined what service I needed, would not perform belt replacement without a $89. "refurbishing", questioned my purchase of the machine in their shop originally, and generally were not public relations orientated. I refused their $89. refurbishing, and they did not offer to even replace just a belt. I subsequently went to another store, the owner replaced the belt within 30 seconds, and said it was a free service for me.

I DO NEED TO SAY THAT THE GENTLEMAN WHO ORIGINALLY SOLD ME THE VACUUM, WHICH I EVENTUALLY RETURNED, WAS VERY POLITE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE WAS A GOOD SALESMAN, AND WAS NOT PUSHY. I FINALLY PURCHASED THE SAME VACUUM AT ANOTHER BUSINESS AND FOUND OUT THAT MR. THOMPSON DID NOT OFFER A SERVICE THAT THE MANUFACTURER OF THAT PARTICULAR VACUUM REQUIRES OF THE SELLER. I ALSO HAD ACE VACUUM LOOK AT MY OLD VACUUM, WITHOUT TELLING THE OWNER OF ACE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AT BEST. THE OTHER COMPANY TOLD ME MY OLD VACUUM WAS WORTH FIXING, AND HIS COST ESTIMATE WAS MUCH LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE THAT BEST VACUUM GAVE ME. SO, NOT ONLY IS MR. THOMPSON PUSHY AND RUDE, BUT HE IS NOT AN HONEST BUSINESSMAN. I WILL NEVER USE BEST VACUUM AS LONG AS HE OWNS THAT ESTABLISHMENT.
Description of Work: I TOOK AN OLD VACUUM IN TO GET IT FIXED, AND BOUGHT A NEW VACUUM AT DISCOUNT BECAUSE THEY WERE GOING TO FIX MY OLD VACUUM. MR THOMPSON CALLED AND ADVISED ME THAT MY OLD VACUUM WASN'T WORTH FIXING. HE BECAME VERY PUSHY AND OBNOXIOUS WHEN I TRIED DISCUSSING ALTERNATIVES TO HIS "SOLUTION". BECAUSE OF MR. THOMPSON'S UNCOOPERATIVE ATTITUDE, I DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO OWN ANY PRODUCT SOLD TO ME BUY THIS BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT. AT THIS POINT, I WAS SHOCKED THAT SOMEONE IN THE BUSINESS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD HANDLE A CUSTOMER IN THIS FASHION. I RETURNED THE NEW VACUUM WITHIN THREE DAYS, AND REQUESTED THAT THEY RETURN MY OLD VACUUM. IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING THIS RETURN AND EXCHANGE, MR. THOMPSON WAS TOTALLY UNCOOPERATIVE, AND EVENTUALLY BECAME VERBALLY ABUSIVE. AGAIN, THE WAY HE HANDLED ME AS A CUSTOMER WAS UNBELIEVABLE. HE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO WORK OUT THE PROBLEM WITH ME, WHICH LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT HE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT LOSING THE SALE.

THE PRICES WERE REASONABLE BUT THEY JUST TOOK NO INITIATIVE TO EVEN INTERACT WITH US. I HAD ALSO TAKEN IN A SWEEPER FOR THEM TO LOOK AT. I ALREADY NEW THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY SAID THEY NEEDED $125 TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. THEY'RE OVERALL ATTITUDE AND INTEREST WAS JUST ONE THAT DID NOT MAKE ME COMFORTABLE AND IMPLIED THAT THEY WOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CUSTOMER IF THE OPPORTUNITY AROSE.

TOOK MY FANTOM FURY IN FOR SERVICE. THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME THE MOTOR WAS BAD, AND IT WOULD COST MORE TO REPLACE THAN I PAID FOR THE VAC. I ASKED HIM A FEW QUESTIONS AND HE WAS SOMEWHAT BELLIGERENT. HE IMPATIENTLY SAID ''DO YOU WANT ME TO FIX IT? I CAN FIX IT IF YOU WANT.'' I KNEW I WOULD NOT SPEND THE $ ON IT AS I HAD TOLD HIM. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT CATEGORIZE HIM AS COURTEOUS. UNFORTUNATELY, I''M NOT SURE TO WHOM I WAS SPEAKING. I HAVE BEEN IN THEIR STORE BEFORE AND FOUND THEM TO BE SOMEWHAT PROFESSIONAL.
