BALLARD CONSTRUCTION

I had a missing shingle on my roof from a windstorm. He was scoping the neighborhood for work and noticed this. He came to the door and presented me with his card saying he was licensed, bonded and insured. The card had a phone number and email address, but no physical address. I allowed him to fix the shingle and told him of my loose siding, which he also fixed. I was a little leery of going with someone unknown and soliciting work like this, but I had been putting off calling someone for several weeks and thought it was worth it to me to at least try to get this done like this. He did not scope the roof or any of the rest of the house for additional problems as I thought he may try to do (and if he did, I know of a few he may have noticed but I would have been unlikely to ask him to fix at this time). He obviously saw the shingle missing from the front, but didn't even look at the back. I suspect he did this as when he announced to me it was missing, I immediately knew what he was talking about. He also nailed down the siding from coming lose again (as it has come loose 2 other times living in this house for 12 years but was not nailed down by other contractors either time). The only reason I would not use him again is I don't know anything else about him, and I'd be likely to have a bigger job next time for which I'd want to do some research. Also, I rated the price a B as I had no idea if it was a good price or not, but to me it was worth it to get these nagging 2 items off my "to do" list
