A first time customer, I called at about 8:30 am requesting a service call because we had no water pressure at all, just a faint trickle. Without my inquiring, the man who took my call advised me that coupons/discounts for service calls, etc. were being offered and told me exactly where to find them. He was very nice, and I felt confident that he would make my call a priority.
I was called back about an hour later & was told techs would arrive in about 30 minutes. They were on time, professional, polite, clean, knowledgeable, and efficient. They explained what they were doing, what they found, and were sensitive to my situation about the upcoming sale of my home. It was clear that I needed to replace the old, rusted, corroded piping and well pressure tank. The men were not trying to sell me anything that I did not need.
At about 11:30am, when they were finished, the guys left the basement area as clean as it was when they arrived. They had already loaded the old metal parts onto their truck when I asked that they leave the parts here for scrap metal re-sale. They did not hesitate to unload the parts and leave them in a very convenient yet concealed spot near the house.
I was VERY pleased with the service -- The whole service call, including the phone call, wait time, etc. only took about 3 hours! Price-wise, I don't have previous experience with this type of repair, but the breakdown goes as follows:
Their normal service call is $150 (discounts are available)
$22 gallon pressure tank - $422.10
labor to install tank- $207.90
brass tank "T" assembly with switch (piping with new pressure gauge)- $134.00
labor to install tank "T"- $66.00
sales tax- $38.93.
I paid a total of $968.93, including the $100 Angie's List coupon.
*DISCOUNTS*
C & J had a coupon on their website for $100 off, but I had to send an e-mail request for the coupon, and the coupon didn't arrive back to me immediately. They guys were already here, so I opted to use the Angie's List discount by purchasing a $100 coupon which would cover the $150 service call. This turns out to be only $50 off. In the meantime, the C & J coupon arrived in my e-mail. The techs were very conscientious about not overcharging me and being fair, so they went ahead and gave me a $0 charge for the service calI, which I believe was fair. I have to say that the inconsistency between the discounts and the wording of the offers was confusing.
