Roofing, General Remodeling + 1 more
The project began in June 2009. They started with removing the concrete patio and digging the footer for the addition. This went pretty quick however they left the decking off the area directly under existing roof and when it rained water entered through the crawl space access and flooded my basement. They cleaned up the mess but it ruined some items. When they ordered the steel roof they ordered the wrong grade. Once we had found out it was wrong it was to late and we had to buy it. Luckily the store gave us a break on the price which made it a little easier to swallow. The duct work added was not sufficent and we froze to death last winter. This was brought to their attention and they stated they would send out a HVAC guy to look at but he never showed. Travis insisted that it is installed correctly. Once the work was complete we asked for a statement indicating what was built and the total price. This was needed for my insurance agent. After many phone calls and face to face discussions I finally got the statement after 10 months. We also had trouble with the fireplace smoking. I asked a carpenter friend about it and he said the pipe was not installed at the proper height, 10 -2 . This was brought to their attention however they did nothing to fix it. They did do some things correct. The walls are straight along with the foundation. The dormers look great and they were very patient with the changes we asked for during construction. They were always here on time and finished the project in a timely manner. Before hiring them for a job be sure to make a contract and hold them to it.
