Bakers Tri-State Concrete Lifting

Concrete Leveling, Concrete Driveway Service,

About us

Slabjacking is defined as the pressure injection of a cementatious mixture through small holes (1.75 inch to 2.5 inch diameter) to raise faulty or settled concrete. The holes are strategically placed to ensure proper lift. Our exclusive non-shrink mix design is injected under the sunken concrete, as it raises the slab it also fills the voids and stableizes the slab. This is done till the concrete is brought back to it's original height. After the lifting is complete, we clean the area of excess drill tailings and grout, then re-cement the holes with the best color match available. Most work is completed in less than 1 day.

Concrete Leveling, Concrete Driveway Service
$2,757
Within one years? time, the drive has shifted substantially. I have been able to find only one of the supposedly two piers. These piers have obviously failed in their purpose of slowing the shifting process. The expansion joints have gotten wider, the concrete crack fill has completely broken apart, and has also widened considerably, the slab jacking has also dropped from its repair level, by as much as 1/2" at the garage junction, and the Lifetime Sealant has never performed as advertised by Jim Baker. I paid Mr. Baker $2,757.00 for 11 months of nothing. Not what any reasonable person would consider a reasonable repair, reasonable quality, or reasonable results. On August 26, 2010 I emailed the Bakers with my problems. I was informed on August 27 that they would contact the manufacturer of the driveway sealant to find out what has happened. I have heard nothing on that. In following days and weeks I have had several email communications with them to address the more pressing issues of shifting and settling. they have made no attempts, other than to excuse the problems as natural events of earth moving and shifting to resolve the problems. It is clear that Baker Tri-State Concrete Lifting went through the ?steps? of repair, but the quality and results of the workmanship and materials is sorely lacking. This is evidenced by the accelerated and progressive degradation of the so called repairs in only one years? time. Other than to say they have contacted the manufacturer of the sealant, the Bakers have made no efforts to satisfy my concerns.
Response from Bakers Tri-State Concrete Lifting
"The work is not covered by ANY kind of warranty, also I was NOT to install two piers as he states, but what was proposed and installed was called a double 8 pier. An internet search should explain what that is. He has also sent me photos of where it was obvious that he had picked at the crack repair physically damaging the integrity of repairs and also stating he has been digging around trying to find a second pier that of course does not exist. He was also advised that soil dehydration was detrimental to the stabilization of existing concrete as this type of soil shrinks dramatically upon the dry season; I have no knowledge whether he has made any attempts to keep any of this in check. A severe winter and very dry summer plus improper installation of his concrete is the problem. He had a proposal for tear out and replacement but opted for a repair to try to cut down on such a large expense. I am sorry that that has not worked out for him but am not obligated for any of his continued problems either. I have contacted the manufacture of the sealer that was applied that he claims has failed but have not heard from them, perhaps he would have better luck contacting them on his own merits as he was sent a large amount of fact sheets prior to it being applied. I hope this helps you decide on what’s what? Jim Baker-Owner"
