It was convenient for me to have him fix the access points and to do the pest control and repairs so that it did not require calling two different specialized companies and set up appointments.
The finished cleanup of the crawl space and repairs was professionally and thoroughly completed. I felt that Mr. T. knew the wildlife behaviors very well and has the network of other people to take care of any kind of animal trapped.
Another plus for this company is that it uses an answering service so I was able to talk with someone at all the various hours day or night and even on Sunday.
Lee returned to retrieve the first groundhog late the next morning. When the second trap was set initially, I believe that first bait, an apple (an apple had attracted the first critter easily), sat much longer than it should have. I did NOT note how long, but it was several days. Response to the second catch was not fast as the first one was, long enough that the critter ate the entire cantaloupe half and two apples I cut up and slipped through the mesh of the cage for her. She was inside the trap for many hours after I'd called to notify of the catch. The trap was beneath a very leaky gutter downspout, and a heavy rain came while she watied for pickup. I placed an umbrella over her so she wouldn't be hit by the literal deluge, and it was very soon after the rain that she was picked up.
In initial discussion of what would occur, before the animals were caught, I was told he would fill the burrows after the animals were caught. This did not happen. Another problem was communication. Lee was having trouble with reception with a new cell phone. I believe I use the same phone company, and they are sometimes very, very slow to forward voice mail. It's quite possible this accounts for the apparently slow response when I phoned.
On the whole, I'm pleased. I had hoped to be able to have these creatures removed to a safe place, rather than being killed. I live inside the city limits but have a large property that's been rather wild in the recent past. I'm so glad to have found someone who doesn't just poison and burn wild critters that get trapped by urbanization.
"It seems that the customers main concern was "punctuality" and "responsiveness". I travel everywhere from Seymore to Nashville and all over the surrounding counties. If I happen to be close then the response time is very quick. Unfortunately, if I am not close, then it can appear as if my response time is slow. Depending on how many traps I have set and where they are set is how I base my daily route schedule. I run my route in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes animals are caught after I run my route and have to wait until the evening run to be picked up. Most animals just end up going to sleep until I can get there to pick them up. The groundhog had eaten a large piece of cantelope and was very fat and healthy. It did not need additional food but Im sure enjoyed it anyway. This job is not an exact science, as in anything sometimes there will be wait times and seemingly slow response times. However, It is my goal to make the animal as safe and comfortable as possible until I can pick it up to take it to its new home. As far as the holes to be backfilled are concerned, I will follow up to make sure it is done to her satisfaction."
"Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the successful capture and relocation of any animals. The initial inspection and set up fee is $150 and upon successful capture we do charge an additional $150 (This pricing is for skunks and not the less expensive price for other animals) and anywhere from $25 to $50 after that for each additional animal. Most people dont realize the number of trips that we make to the home. This includes our time, cost of gas, and other business expenses. Also, many times an animal will leave when mild harrassement, ie daily trapping pressure, is applied. To address the smell situation, to this day we have been unable to find any product or procedure that really works well to elimanate skunk odor. We have a few products that we use but as far as I know there is no magic bullet. Overall, the number of tiimes that we have been unsuccessful is very small and the vast majority of our customers are extremely happy with what we do."
