It was excellent. I called and Ismail answered and when I told him about what needs to be done, he recommended two towing companies and the first one arrived within an hour and half and towed the car to the shop. Immediately the car was inspected he called and told me what needed to be done, when it would be completed and how much it would cost. He found other things after the brakes were fixed and they test drove the car. I was immediately notified and it was still completed within the same timeframe originally promised. The cost was very reasonable. I would recommend any time! Thank you Tom Cherry.

Pads in the front and pads and rotors in the back.  Didn't try to upsell me to all four rotors. Muffler was sounding like it had rusted through and he told me it was where they weld on the guard plate and that it always rusts through there. He re-welded it no charge. Quick and professional like all my other visits there. You can trust these guys.

Found good reviews here so I drove over. First come first served. The owner told me it would be at least 30 minutes so I went and grabbed lunch. Came back and was in about 15 minutes later. This is a 42 year old classic car. I was switching out the glass packs I bought it with to some real mufflers. At first he indicated he didn't have anything in stock but would order them, but then decided he'd add the pipe that was needed to make the mufflers fit and did just that. In and out quick, the car sounds great and I couldn't be happier. Used the coupon (10%) from his website and was out the door for $144.

Good stuff and would highly recommend .

My Dodge Ram pickup truck recently had the exhaust pipe rust through and break away from the muffler. I suspected I would need a new muffler and tailpipe installed costing me more than I really wanted to spend at the time. The owner himself examined my truck and said he believed he could simply attach a small part and weld the pipe back to the muffler, saving the cost of a new muffler system. It took him 20 minutes and I was on my way. The owner did the work himself (his employees absent due to heavy snow). Total Cost: $18!
I also spoke with the owner afterward and learned that he is an immigrant to the US and could not stop praising this country for the opportunity it afforded him. He seemed to have a tremendous work ethic and it was pleasant to hear an outside perspective on what it means to live and work in a land of opportunity.
I would not hesitate to use this business again.

It went fine. They did not try to sell me a whole new system. They just took care of the problem area

I've used Tom Cherry several times for exhaust system work, and have on every occasion found them to do rapid, high quality work at a reasonable price. They give honest appraisals and advice, and don't do unnecessary repairs. The present owner is maintaining the original Tom Cherry's reputation.

Outstanding…I took my car in due to noise and an emission problem, they fixed it quickly while I waited, and replaced an extremely expensive part for considerably less than competitors’ estimates. The work and part are still holding up after 2 years.

When I arrived, the shop was quite busy. So Ishmael, the shop owner took the car onto the rack and did the work himself. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. It should be said that he did not attempt to run up the bill by adding extra work, like refinishing of the rotors, to the job. Just did what was necessary. Really appreciated his honesty and integrity.

First, I should say that I am a longtime Tom Cherry customer. I remember the shop from when it was under the last owners, and I'm happy to say that the same great service is still there under the new owners.
This is the second year I've had Tom Cherry check my car's breaks. The first time, I was told that the brakes hadn't worn enough to warrant replacing. As you can imagine, I was delighted that an automotive repair place was honest enough to tell me that I didn't need to spend money! This year, I needed to have only the pads replaced, which was a very minimal cost.
Service was prompt and professional.
I very much recommend Tom Cherry to anyone who needs brake or muffler work.

Car is about 4 years old and has 75,000 miles. Noticed an intermittent grinding noise coming from the back of my car when braking, but the brakes felt responsive. Dropped off car in the morning and told the mechanic the noise I was hearing. Received a call around lunch telling me that they couldn't replicate the noise (not surprising since it was so intermittent), but that they measured my brake pads and they had at a minimum 10,000 miles left on them. I asked if they suggested that I replace them anyway and the mechanic said that it would be a waste of money at this point (no hard sell, a plus!).
I picked the car up and a few days later noticed the noise again. I finally pinpointed it to the back right wheel, and after getting a flash light and looking through the small holes in the wheel I could see a 1/4and quot; wide gouge in my rotor back-right rotor. I brought the car back and told them about the gouge. The mechanic put the car on the lift right there and said that my pads had warn unevenly, and they had previously only measured the bottom side where the pads were still thick. He apologized and admitted that they had made a mistake (a plus!). He suggested replacing the pads on all four wheels and resurfacing the rotors. 75,000 miles out of factory brakes with a mix of city and highway driving isn't bad, so it seemed like an honest and legitimate assessment. Since I needed the car that day, I brought it back the next morning and they called after lunch to tell me the car was ready. I picked it up that afternoon and the brakes have been responsive and silent ever since.
I was a bit upset that they didn't see the gouge in my rotor (I have to assume it was there the first time I brought it in since there were only a few days in between, but I can't be sure) and that they didn't give my pads a better look before sending me on my way the first time. But, I appreciate that they admitted their mistake without trying to lie about it; no harm done!

The interesting thing was that they looked at the system on the truck, and they said that it was done by somebody who was really not that good because the pipes were not tucked up underneath the truck in the way they should have been. Particularly in one place where the axle had hit a big bump or where it had a heavy load in the back, the axle had actually hit the pipe and bent a little bit. They said that is because it was not tied up underneath the way it was supposed to be; that is why they had used a different kind of hanger to hold the pipes rather than use the stock locations because they were not tied up the pipes where they should be. They seem to know what a good job was, and they seem to have pride in things that sort of offended them that somebody would do this job and consider it a good job. The other thing they did though was inspect the system. They did some tests here and there to see what kind of shape it was in. They told me that I did not need to have it replaced now and to bring it back in a year-and-a-half. I like them a lot. They did quote me the whole system, and it seemed very reasonable to me. I went in without an appointment, and they told me to bring it in and took a look at it right away.

Excellent Service. Called and came in the same day. Dropped my car off and went back to work. They did the inspection and called very quickly with the estimate. I had 80,000 miles on the brakes and would not have been surprised if I had needed new rotors - but a show of their honesty was that they said the rotors were fine, they may need replacing later but no need now, and the total cost was the same as the estimate. Then when I came in to get the car, they told me about how to tell when the brakes were needing replacement. I was very pleased with the overall experience.

I thought I needed a new muffler, but I was shown that it was just the flex pipe going to the muffler that needed to be replaced. I was told the cost of the replacement flex pipe and that it could be done right then in a half hour. I had the service performed while I waited.
