Jack and his helper Tom Lozano took on the job of sourcing the materials and building a new cherry and limestone fireplace mantel and surround that I designed, since the existing bit was, well, really, really ugly. Jack reviewed the design, made some practical suggestions, and ordered the solid cherry parts milled and the limestone milled. When the materials arrived, Jack and Tom proceeded to install the parts and install a new slate hearth in about three days. When the job was completed it was clear that we needed a fresh coat of paint in our living room, and Tom took on the job privately.
Our living room has been beautifully transformed by the new fireplace and the fresh paint. Bravo Jack and Tom!
