The move-out inspection was scheduled for a day I was unavailable and I was told in writing that it could not be changed. Therefore, Parker inspected the premises on their own. Their most egregious claim was they withheld portions of my security deposit due to dirty exterior siding. Upkeep of the exterior of a 4-unit townhouse (or any rental property) is not ever the responsibility of the tenant, unless specified in the lease. My lease clearly states that the Lessor (Parker) will provide snow removal, lawn care and trash removal. Nowhere does it mention that I am to maintain the exterior of a 2-story building. In addition, they routinely hire a company to power wash the outside of the building. Further discrepancies were noted when they charged me for dirty baseboards when in fact they were paint speckled (and I did not repaint while I was a tenant.) Their inspector, Chelsea, was apparently not trained to note the difference. I wrote to Courtney Fosnaugh, Tenant Relations, to express my dissatisfaction and requested a line-item bill from the cleaning company. She was unable to provide this. She has no record of what Cleaning Solutions, the professional cleaning company hired by Parker to clean my vacant apartment, spent 8 hours (at $28/hour) cleaning. In the second letter, I detailed their errors, quoting where they had conflicted directly with their own lease regarding normal wear and tear, as well as the egregious claim that I should be responsible for maintaining the exterior siding of the rental property. I received a curt letter from Courtney which claimed that "After carefully revisiting your security deposit dispute twice, we have found no discrepancies..."
