New Look Paint

New Look Paint (David Shaw) does a fantastic job with the painting itself, but the rest of his service left a lot to be desired. He doesn't have the ability to stick to a basic schedule; this relatively simple 3-day job ended up being completed two weeks later than he'd originally promised. In the meantime, other renovation contractors were scrambling to adjust their schedules because they were now being delayed by Dave and New Look Paint. He communicated very poorly during that whole time, there were two separate occasions that he simply didn't show up on the job site with no communication whatsoever. Any time I needed to know what was going on, I had to contact him; he apparently had no issues with leaving me (and other contractors who were dependent on his schedule) uninformed and in the dark. Less than half of the doors of the kitchen cabinets that were painted actually closed and latched properly after they were re-hung following painting. I understand that Dave couldn't check that at the time (doors need to be left ajar so the paint can cure completely), but he also didn't ever follow up and check to see that everything was working correctly before declaring the job to be complete. I had to pay my other contractor to correct the issues that Dave should have followed up on. So ... the paint does look very nice. But the inability to stick with the schedule and general level of un-professionalism was very surprising and disappointing.
