They are callous and disgustingly unprofessional....for 9 years...nine stinking expensive years my dog has been a patient with combs vet clinic 9 years and my husbands parents did also while jim combs was alive and running the business. I can tell you that i wont be taking any of our pets from here on out to combs pet clinic. Milo was actually a combs patient. When brian called this evening with our emergency the receptionist said," well we only have one vet working tonight and a emergency JUST walked through the door" brian told her that it woukd be at least 45 minutes or so b4 he could get milo the office. He asked again if he could be seen. The woman said," No because itll be too close to 5 and thats when we close.. " ?? i couldnt believe what she said. Another time milo had somehow gotten a seed pod stuck in his eye....like it was wedged in pretty good. Just a few weeks b4 that he had chomped down and got a stick wedged in the roof of his mouth and they had to knock him out to get it out snd hes current on all his shots but he is accident prone and combs is where we went. So i called about his eye and i believe it was the same woman brian had talked to tonight. She said he could be seen to bring him in, i had a problem. I had to wait on brian to get home from terre haute because he had tbe money on him. So i told her that and asked if i could still bring him in and get him treated and brian pays them as soon as he got in Bloomington hours later....she said Nope...no way no how. Its like someone flipped a switch when mentioned the money is hours away. When brian finally made it home, they were looking at him and said awww poor guy...you really shouldve brought him in sooner.......he then proceeded to melt her face with his words . Anytime our dog has been seen, they have gotten paid. Every...single....time....so with him being a patient that had just had his **** head run over by a car, you would think they would've at least said come on in. Instead they were too worried about closing the doors at 5 on the dot. Imif jim combs were still alive he would be absolutely disgusted with the staff and how they treat their "patients" He would never turn down an animal that was i dire need of his medical expertise, whether it be from lack of funds OR what **** time it was. Its obvious he is gone because of the jerks who work in thst building. They wont get another dime from this family, and i believe that everyone that does go there.....ha, wait until your pet is suffering and dying. They will turn you away and not think twice. That place needs a new makeover.....all new staff!

Our 1 yr, 9 mos old cat had come to us as a stray crying from the woods 8/2019. We took him to nearby Combs Vetrinary Clinic for Initial Exam and Vaccinations to limit his stress from a longer trip. He was regarded as healthy and noted to be 3 mos of age at the time. The series of visits required were much more expensive than previous care with other cats in past years and stretched our budget - but we considered the saving of stress to the animal to be worthwhile. We named him Joe and gave him a secure indoor home; he always ran away from the house door when it opened - obviously did not want to venture back out there - but loved to window stalk our feeders. He was extremely active and seemed perfectly healthy. By the time his next check-up was due 8/2020, we were in a COVID-19 crisis - so we decided to wait for his next check-up and neuter a little while to reduce risk to him. I had never had a young cat become sick - more or less suddenly decease. However, Joe was lethargic late last night - which was highly unlike him... I understood it was past Comb's hours and so called Bloomington Vetrinary Hospital - which referred us to Indy - which had a 6-8 Hr wait. We figured it would be better for Joe to take him for an emergency visit nearby rather than put him through that. By 5 A.M. Joe had taken a turn for the worse. So I called Combs to leave a message - also called the Indy Clinic listed as their emergency number- took Joe to Combs to arrive by opening - and called them to report our cat, a patient of record - 8/2019 - was in need of emergency care - was gasping to breath! They insisted that since "his last appointment was 8/2019" - was 4 mos past due - we would have to take him to Indy! I tearfully explained I did not think Joe would survive the ttip to Indy - which had been my qualm the night before as well - that a tirp to Indy and several Hr wait - would be too much stress atop whatever shock he was suffering. However, their refusal of care was adamant - would not even offer oxygen to him! So we tried to make it Blmgtn Vetrinary Hospital. He died in my arms on the way. At least Blmgtn Vetrianry Hosptial - where Joe had never been seen - confirmed his death for. us. Now we do not know what caused the sudden death of our cat whom we made every effort to safeguard ...and we think, with his overall level of activity until some sudden occurrence, emergency care likely could have been successful. We are distressed and heart broken over this callousness toward both the life of our cat and the well-being of our family. And, yes, we paid our fees immediately when care was rendered! Every visit goes very well.  They have good availability on appointments and squeezes you in if possible for emergencies and other urgent needs.  They are very professional, caring and reasonably priced.  They even gave us an ID card for each of our cats with their shot dates on it, facts about them and their pictures.

I am quite satisfied. It was very good. We have a rescued dog that is very neurotic and they are very kind to her.

We had to take in couple of different times, the last time my husband took him little over $200, the time before that I think under $100. I like the vet and she is good vet. She knows the little guy, I feel very comfortable and confident that she will give us the right diagnosis to help us with. They are expensive.

They seem like they know what they're doing. People there like animals. I've never heard anything bad about them. Usually I'm able to get in with an appointment the week that I call. They're perfectly professional. They come in there and do what they need to do with the animals.

The staff are friendly and aware of their clients time. Dr. Nickel is amazing and takes time to talk to my dogs and actually gets down on their level. She asks wonderful questions and is full of suggestions. You can tell she is an animal lover and her caring nature is recognized by my dog. I have a Weimaraner and while he isn't the most trusting dog around, the staff at Combs Vet. act as if they are thrilled he is there, and it immediately changes his mood.
Their cost for visit/shots is extremely reasonable, and I would certainly trust them with more involved procedures. Recently I had to have a rescue dog seen for her "cherry eye". The staff diagnosed, scheduled, and took care of my dog quickly. The quality of work was exceptional and her eye looks amazing.
I was happy to have found them, and am grateful for their help.

My cat lived a long life thanks to Combs, she was almost 20 when she passed away. After her passing I received a heartfelt card from the entire staff at Combs with their condolences. I appreciated their thoughtfulness and would highly recommend them to everyone.

The vet's assistant took all the pertinent information for my dog's first visit. The vet checked over the dog, drew blood to rule out certain issues, then prescribed medication. She spent ample time with us, answered all my questions, discussed today's issues and set a follow-up appointment.

Went as a walk-in and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes. The "girls" in the office were all very pleasant. This is my regular vet and am always pleased with how they treat the animals and humans.

They are timely and caring. I would use any of the vets in the practice and they have met my needs. I have an older dog and we have never had a problem in getting an appointment when we need one. They also have boarding services that I have used and they have been wonderful with my animal.
