Bloomington Heating Cooling Refrigeration

When we needed a new furnace/A/C system, we purchased an expensive unit from the company that had been doing our annual inspections. The unit was installed in May, 2018 and, although the A/C worked fine, the heat would never turn on when it got cold. The dealer sent their servicemen out 5 or 6 times in the Fall/early Winter of 2018 to get it started each time but if it got warmer and the heat turned off , it would never start again on its own. Each time the servicemen assured us that the problem was fixed after they replaced parts or did overrides on the system. When we turned the heat on in the Fall, 2019 and it didn't start AGAIN, I called Bryant who provided me with the contact info of Bloomington Heating and Cooling, advising that they were their "authorized" dealer in my area. I called the company and Kevin came out the same day to thoroughly inspect our system. Ultimately, he discovered that the installer had used an adhesive compound that was so expandable that it nearly closed off the gas input pipe and likely had caused pcs. of adhesive to get sucked into the modulating gas valve. After replacing the modulating valve and, more importantly, cleaning out the gas pipe, the furnace came on by itself and started again after shutting off with higher temps. The original installer just kept getting the furnace to engage without searching further to find the real problem. I'm so impressed with Kevin and Bloomington Heating and Cooling that I wanted to let others know their outstanding skill level. Never again will I buy a system from someone who does annual inspections without doing due diligence. I want the best and that's what we've found in Bloomington Heating and Cooling! Despite it taking over a year to get a new furnace to work as it should, I'm relieved to have found a company willing to look deeper into problems and find long-term solutions. We'll be using Bloomington Heating and Cooling for annual inspections from now on, confident that if there are future problems, we have an excellent resource!

They have been coming out here for years. I have not called them in a while, but that’s who I would use. Just one person came out. It took a couple of days, they had to get the part out, go find the part and bring it back, had to go locate one. They’re just good people, I’ve used them for years. I wouldn’t tell anybody else to work on my air conditioning or my heaters. They’re just good. Left area clean, excellent. They do their job really well. They’re heating & cooling, they’re the guys.

We've used them twice and once it went well and the second time it didn't go so well. They installed our air conditioning unit the first time and it went well and the second time we had a gas leak in our furnace and the gas company tagged it and said it couldn't be turned on until the leak was fixed. So Bloomington came out and said they couldn't detect the leak and they turned it back on and my mother in law was here so she let them turn it on and we paid for it. Hours later my husband came home and smelled the gas and we had the gas company come back out and they tagged it again. We argued with Bloomington for them making us pay for a service that didn't need to be done. The second service costed be around $100.

Did a very good job. Work went as expected. The owner gave us 2 or 3 options to choose from with complete estimates for cost. He helped us save a great deal of money by informing us of governmental rebates we were eligible for and filling out the necessary paper work. He was very knowledgeable about the rebate program. This was the second furnace he installed for us. We have been happy with both jobs. The first furnace was installed in 1996.

I've used Kevin and his Bloomington Heating and Cooling crew for heating, cooling, and electrical work at my home for many years, and trust them completely in terms of both their technical competency and honesty. When it was time to replace my two AC units (after 28 years of service) I wanted them to do the work. I first met with Jesse, the operations manager, and we discussed various options after which he provided a detailed written estimate of the cost of the project, which I felt was reasonable. A day for the work to be done was set; they arrived on time and completed the removal of old systems and installation of new systems in one day. A crew of 3 to 4 was here from about 9am - 7pm -- it was a big job. All's well with the new systems and I know that I can count on Bloomington Heating and Cooling for prompt service if any problems do arise in the future.

Everything went as well as possible. I called the day before, and had work done the next day. Caleb, the technician, called me a half an hour before the scheduled time to tell me he would be a little late, and arrived at the new time as he said he would. He checked the work needing done, we talked about options, and he went to work., testing it afterwards. He was nice enough to bring in a tarp to walk on when inside, and even vacuumed up afterwards. Every interaction was positive.

I feel that this company is honest from the owner down to each service person sent to my house. They always write a detailed description of all tasks performed including pressure tests, leak tests, cleaning, operation, observations, evaluation of the future life of my heat pump based on age.

Rep came to the house to look around and give us a proposal. He was professional, polite and very thorough. We had a lot of questions and he was very patient in answering all of them. We mutually decided to change the location for the new equipment so he came back to the house to check the location, make sure it would work and answered more of our questions.
They were able to work us into their schedule very quickly and were willing to work with our schedules. The workers were very nice and pleasant to be around while they worked. They were happy to answer any questions that came up while they were at the house working. For example, we had questions about our attic and the insulation and how to operate the new thermostat.
Our job took most of two days to complete. We noticed that the team got bigger toward the end of the work day as other employees finished jobs at other locations. It was nice to see teamwork.
We were very happy with the quality of work and the equipment they recommended to us. We would recommend them to others and would use them again.

They were reasonable. They have always been good. They are good people.
