My experience with them was good.  We got seen very quickly.  It was a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to be.  The doctor was very informative.  I would recommend them.

I have actually used them since 1974. I can't say enough about them. Because they've been treating her for so long, they've not charged us for office visits and sometimes they didn't charge us for the anabolic. They're just a really caring group of people. I know there's a place that you can go that's cheaper but sometimes you pay for what you've got. I know that if I have an emergency with my dog at 1:00 A.M., they'll meet me at their office. I don't think what they charge is unreasonable. We would definitely use them in the future.

My wife's parents have been using this facility for years, probably 20 years. The staff there is always very friendly. They are like most vet clinics where you can have walk-ins, and they have appointments. We have taken our pets there for annual checkups and had their shots done, had heart worm checks and got different medication for them. He is really good, and if there is an emergency he would drop what he doing and meet you in the front.

We have been using these Vets since 1974. This office has a history of compassion and caring. I do not object to paying for excellent services. Yes you may have to wait but I see this as a testimony to their skills and compassion. They do not treat your pets like an assembly line. They have seen is through many pet illnesses, surgeries, and deaths. They have also been instrumental in assisting when we were adopting animals from organizations. They are available 24/7 for their patients and I can tell you that I have used their emergency services three times over the years and they have responded quickly and compassionately.

We have used AHVH for over a year. Being new to the area we picked AHVH based on location and that they do boarding as well. We have lived in several cities outside of Indiana over the past 10 years and have had our share of experience with other vets. We have had better experiences and worst experiences so I think an overall rating of B is fair but would probably give them a B minus if I could.
Biggest complaint is that they don't have appointments. I think it is great to be able to walk in anytime without an appointment but having to wait is a little exhausting for my dog.
Quality of care seems a bit less than what we've experienced elsewhere. Examines do not seem very thorough and maybe that's because they are trying to get everybody in and out as quickly as possible.
Overall, I don't think they are bad but when your dog is part of your family....you want the best.

What's good is its walk in. There is no need for an appointment but what is negative is you just have to wait.

My cat Hazel had a stroke and was cold and paralyzed from the waist down when I found her on the stairs upon returning home from work. We were able to see the vet Dr. Miller immediately. He took her and put her on an IV and administered blood thinners to her for a few days. Hazel was given a 25% chance of improving beyond the state of a vegetable. However after Dr. Miller initial expert care and concern Hazel made a recovery of 85% !!! It took my husband and I both 6 months to get her moving around again after she was discharged from their care. Without them, Hazel just wouldn't have made it. Today she is 15 yrs old and STILL remembers the staff at Arlington Heights! She loves them and they love her. Hazel's stroke occurred in October of 2008. We also brought in Jan, one of our two male cats, due to a urinary blockage that was very serious. Jan's life was in danger. Dr. Miller catheterized Jan and kept his pain and discomfort at a minimum. Jan was kept for a few days as well. Jan knew that he was in the best care with the best staff anywhere. Jan is a shy cat and warmed to the staff. We are very grateful to Arlington Heights for their very honest, direct and humane dealings with our animals. They've saved the life of two of our cats within a 4 year time frame. Both visits were around $500.00 - reasonable price for both circumstances.

I see all the veterinarians there. I recommend them all. I keep going back because I like the people there and the service. I have recommended to others. The price was average and comparable to any other ones. They are easily available. I had called in for emergency once and the vet was available in 20 minutes. I will see them in the future.

We recently began taking our cat to Arlington. We have always been treated courteously and effectively. Our cat was constantly pacing and going outside the litter box. When we took her in, Dr. Miller suspected hyperthyroidism. A blood test confirmed the diagnosis. After having her thyroid ablated at a clinic in Indianapolis, our cat became ill--would not eat or drink. The vets at Arlington put her on antibiotics, suspecting a nosocomial infection. They kept her for a couple of days on IV fluids to ensure her kidneys didn't fail. She is currently home, apparently recovered and doing well. The only down-side to this veterinary practice is that most days of the week service is on a walk-in basis. sometimes this mea

My friend, who has vetted at arlington off and on and has seen people get kicked out because they don't have money. even during an emergancy they would not vet her cat even tho they had vetted it before, the reason being that they were not his regular vet. Her name is Barbara Winders and she will verify the facts of this if necessary. She has been going there since 1975. Now she uses Pet Housecalls. I would highly recommend that no one take their animal there. NO compassion at all. Just after the money.
