"[Member Name Removed], So glad we could help you guys get your spa back in order! Glad you are part of our Aqua Pro Family! Your Team @ Aqua Pro"
When we approached one of the key employees, he told us in confidence that he had spoken with their pool chemical supplier and was told that pond water should NEVER be used to fill a pool. This was confirmed through calls to 3 other pool companies. We spoke to the owner of Aqua Pro, and all he did was shrug his shoulders and say he didn't think it would be a problem. No apology. We asked if he would do anything to help us with the expenses for filters, chemicals, etc. He said no- he would know better next time.
Then a fluke accident- a branch fell from a tree, punctured the corner of the liner and emptied the pool in an hour. There were 2 golf ball sized holes and a square foot of sand bedding washed our. The liner was only 6 weeks old- bummer! We called Aqua Pro. They informed us that there was no way to pull back the liner and repair it- that it would stretch and not work- and they said they would have to replace the liner. They also told us they were very busy and would have to order the liner and they could replace it in about 3 weeks. This advice was given on the phone- they were not even willing to come out and look at the damage to see if it was repairable!!
We called Indiana Pools and Spas- it was Saturday at 1:00. They came out within an hour. They assured us that the liner has a one year "memory" (it pulls back to original shape) and could be repaired. They pulled the corner of the liner, repaired the washed out sand base, repaired the liner, and reinstalled it. They helped us contact someone to haul water to us immediately, and by 7:30 pm we had the pool filled and were balancing the chemicals. By the way, we asked if they would fill the pool with pond water- their comment "No professional would ever do that!"
Another thing- while the liner was pulled back, we found that a substandard job had been done by Aqua Pro. No plastic was installed at the base edge, and the metal rim was oxidizing. Aqua Pro had cleaned the oxidation from the metal but had not sealed it with a zinc sealant- this will lead to more corrosion and failure of the pool wall. The only way to correct the problem would be to completely remove the liner, repair the wall, and then put in a new liner since the complete removal of the large liner would make it almost impossible to reinstall.
If you get an opinion from Aqua Pro, get a second opinion. It will most likely save you time, frustration and a lot of money! We are very easy people to get along with- but this company has given us bad advice on 2 occasions, cost us a lot of time grief and money, and made it clear they had no intention of working with us to make things right. Probably the worst company I have ever worked with- very disappointed!
"[removed member name] needed a liner replaced in his approximately 20 year old above ground pool (photos available of complete job). We completed the job and replaced the liner and remedied all rusty areas. [removed member name] is on a well at his house and did not want to purchase water trucked in. He was given the option of using his well water (albeit during the driest summer on record in nearly 100 years) or purchasing trucked in water (which we offer for sale and delivery from our water truck). [removed member name] inquired regarding using his on site pond water. We agreed to use the water from his pond in an effort to help keep his expense low and shared with he and his wife that the water would require a little more extensive cleanup to remove phosphates and metals (keep in mind…we drink treated lake water every day). While this method is not the first approach we would recommend, [removed member name] was interested in mitigating his expenses. Aqua Pro sanded extensive rust from around the pool (photos available), painted the sanded areas w/ rust inhibiting paint, installed the new liner to perfection, and replumbed his filter w/ rigid Schedule 40 plumbing (at $0 charge). [removed member name] was able to treat the water and all was well until a tree branch fell into the pool creating a significant tear in the liner. Upon contacting Aqua Pro [removed member name] advised that the tear was rather large. [removed member name] mentioned that he would simply turn this into his insurance as a claim but could not as he had already filed two claims that year. Aqua Pro offered to work with Mr. and [removed member name] to replace the liner and or patch, however it seemed that the demands they presented (they wanted us to replace/repair the liner for free and truck in all water from our water truck at no charge) were a little over the top, and at this point Aqua Pro encouraged these homeowners to seek a remedy and/or advice from another company. We have complete before, during and after photo's of this job and are happy to share them."
