Did what was required; worked wtih our schedules and were very professional.
contractd to take down trees and Mike spent most of the day up in the tree to get it down...worked steady; kept at it till the job was done.

They did a great job. It was a huge tree. There was no sign of it when they left. They replaced it with an Autumn Blaze Maple and it is beautiful.

Mr. Hoffman came by in the evening near the begining of June. I explained what I needed done and we agreed upon a price. He said he couldn't fit me in until July and I said I was okay with that. I also asked if he could come by and cut my grass weekly for 5 weeks. We agreed upon a price for that as well. The price was higher than I had ever paid but I was short on time and going out of town soon. Things seemed good until I asked if he was going to write up an agreement since it was going to be a while after we spoke before he started. I was concerned that we would have different memories of what we agreed upon. He was very reluctant to put anything in writing but seemed to agree. I gave him an email address to send it to. I didn't ever get anything from him. The first week he was supposed to cut the grass he didn't show up. I called him at the start of the second week and he said he had been busy but he could go over the next day. He cut the grass the followind day but did not show up for the next three weeks to cut my grass. He has not contacted me in any way to explain why, receive payment for the one time he did show up, or set a date for the major project he had agreed to do. I now have to find someone else to do the work in addition to cut my grass because it is now too tall for my lawn mower to cut.

Matt and his helpers arrived to do the work at stated time and finished when promised. Price charged was less than quoted as trunk did not need to be ground.  I appreciate Matt's saving me the money!  The area was cleaned up and looked wonderful when the job was finished.  I will definitely use Hoffmann Tree and Landscape services again! Thank you!

I talked with Matt on a Thursday and told him what I needed.  He said he could roll my lawn within a few days, and that rain was forecast so that would make the conditions ideal for rolling.  It rained on Friday and Saturday.  He called  Saturday and asked if he could do the work on Sunday morning between 9:30 and noon.  I told him that was fine.  He arrived around 9:40 and rolled the front and back yard twice, and concentrated on a couple of problem areas in the back yard.    My lot is less than a half-acre and it took him over an hour to do the work. 

The yard still is a little uneven and has a few rough spots that will probably have to be filled with some topsoil to get it more even.  Matt did all he could with the weight of the roller he had, which was probably larger than I would have gotten from a rental place.  I did not expect the lawn to be perfect, as some areas will need some fill dirt to make it level.  The goal was to get it smoother so it was more comfortable to mow with my riding mower, which he did.

I thought the price was reasonable considering his travel distance and time he spent doing the work.

It started off promising enough.  We worked mainly with Matt Hoffman, one of the owners, who was referred to us by a neighbor  The work to be completed included removal of a very large maple tree that was damaged in a storm, trimming out dead wood in an oak tree in the back yard and removal of another large maple tree in the back yard.  We received several quotes from local companies and then after receiving the referral contacted Hoffman and decided to use them.

During the week of 6/27, Hoffman removed the large maple tree in the front yard.  The work on this tree was spread over four days, mainly because no one showed up until at least late morning or early to mid-afternoon.  After completion of this task (approximately 1/3 of the work order/estimate), we were asked to write a check for the portion of the work completed.  The contract terms clearly stated there would be a $500 down payment (which was paid) and the rest would be paid upon completion of the work.  Against better judgment, we agreed to pay a portion of the estimate (proportional to the amount of work completed).  There were still two trees remaining to be completed at this time.  After payment for the portion of work, Hoffman indicated they would likely be back the following week as they needed to coordinate with IPL as the other large maple was near power lines.  We didn't hear anything back from Hoffman for a very long, very unacceptable, period of time.  After repeated attempts to contact them and numerous phone calls and messages we finally got a call back on 8/22, almost two months later!  (During this entire period of time, there were approx 8 large pieces of plywood and a large dolly left in the yard on the side of the house.  Also during this time, Matt Hoffman came by the house unannounced with an IPL employee, proceeded to go into the backyard, looked at the maple tree in the back, and then left.  We were not told that this would be happening, nor were we told that it even actually happened until we asked about it)

We were told that the majority of the reason for this delay/lack of communication was due to phone issues and being out on vacation (I guess we are supposed to figure this out on our own).  It soon became clear that Hoffman did not want to do the maple tree in the back yard.  Despite having signed a proposal that included this work, we agreed to remove this item.  We didn't feel it would probably would have ever been completed.  We did have the dead wood trimmed out of the oak tree, however, since it was a small job. 

Overall, the price was good, the work (that was done) was adequate, but the communication and timeliness was nothing short of horrendous.  This lack of communication was unacceptable in our opinion.  We truly felt that Hoffman was never coming back to complete the work and were in fact discussing throwing the plywood away and selling the dolly. 

It was a very disappointing and frustrating experience overall. 

Yard had been torn up from sewer line repair. Dirt was in pile, Matt leveled the dirt and put down sod. Looks great! I have also been using Hoffman to cut the grass each week.

He did a real good job and cleaned everything up. I wasn't home when he did the work. He was supposed to do it on a Monday and he was able to come early. I told him that I couldn't pay him until Monday and he came back for the money. He was very polite. The price was pretty good because they were big trees.

Overall, services went well.

I had been looking for a service to roll my lawn since it is soo bumpy. I called Hoffmans and talked with Matt. After telling him my problem, he said he could do the job. I had to wait until we had more rainy days in order for Matt to do the work. He came out after getting the roller and went to work. He finished the job and I paid him for the work done. I also enquired about gutter cleaning. He will be coming out another day to do my gutters, since he didn't have his ladder with him . I am very pleased with his professionalism, work and price. I will call him again.

They do a great job for that type of work, and I have been happy with their services. They are good kids, and I found them to be honest and respectful, with good prices.

It is past the time when my husband should be on a ladder cleaning gutters.

THEY EVEN CLEANED THE LEAVES 10 FT ON BOTH NEIGHBORS LOTS TO AVOID THEM BLOWING RIGHT BACK. EXCELLENT JOB
