On 3/24 John Walke came to look at our garage door and it was determined it needed to be replaced. On 3/29 we asked him to quote a new door. The quote was reasonable and we got the new door approved by our HOA. On 4/1 we ordered the new door….he said it would take 2-3 weeks to come in. Over the next three weeks my husband called him several times to make sure everything was ok, but we never heard a word back. Finally on 4/20 he called and told us that he couldn’t get the door that we had ordered. I'm struggling to understand why he didn't tell us for nearly three weeks that the door was unavailable. So we've gone without a working door for over a month and now the entire process has to start over?
So, I called 3 other companies, found that the door that we wanted was not only available for ordering, with a three week delivery time, but one place actually had the door in stock. It will be installed 6 days from today for $100 less than John Walke quoted us.
The quote was competitive and those that came after all agreed the door needed to be replaced, however his unresponsiveness and lack of communication warrants him a D rating from me.Licensing
