I had my house for sale by owner for 6 months. I had had many lookers, but no offers that amounted to anything. So, I decided that I would give a realtor a shot. Given the many people they could reach I asumed it would only work in my favor. I contacted a local firm, since I always try to work w/ local companies and support my home town. I should have never signed, when after we had made the appointment for the first meeting, the realtor never showed and never called. When she finally came and looked at my house she rushed me so much I don't even remember what was going on. She asked how much I wanted for the house and when she suggested a number, I expressed my concern over the amount being too high. But her being a professional I trusted her judgement. Throughout our long 6 months together, I was never contacted by the realtor one time. Any contact was initiated by me after many missed calls and voicemails left for her. I was the one who suggested reducing the house price after a couple months. And also the one who had to remind her that my contract w/ her was up and the she needed to please come get her sign out of my yard since I would never be using her again.
