After doing a negative review on Old Bob's after buying a shed from them which they sell from the Old Bob's location in Avon the report was then filed under the name of Woodland Mfg & Supply, so that's where you have to go to read my original review. Seems strange since no where on the bill of sale is this company mentioned, just Old Bob's. My advice...buyer beware! This work was performed on 9-19-2008

I've had them build one for me before and I was really happy so it was no problem to go back to them. They did a good job. The first one lasted so long and it was still in good shape when I replaced it, I just replaced it with a bigger one. The quality of materials they use, treated lumber instead of non-treated, lasts longer.

If you want to hire Old Bob?s be prepared for derogatory, slanderous and personal opinions by the owner. They did an excellent job on the warranty work. The new portion would not replace the new wood from one year earlier. I also doubted that I was a member of Angie's List when I am a #1 feeder. I do not appreciate that. He doesn't know how to use the charge machine. Josh the owner put the charge through three times. It got corrected.

In the spring while preparing to paint the shed I noticed that the laminated part of the wood was defective and pulling away from the board itself. I call them and they sent Skip out to look at it, he said that yes the wood was defective but that it was guaranteed by the manufacturer and that I wasn't the only customer who had had this problem and that they would be out to fix it. He also stated that it looked bad for the company, but I told him as long as they replaced it, the company still looked good. He replaced the wood on the two sides and the back and then left. Thinking he may have run out of time, I figured he would return to replace the front. He did not. I called and told them to have Skip call me and he did not. I called a week or so later and again no return call. I stopped at their store and had the gentleman go to the rear of the store and get Skip, when he saw who it was I could tell he was not happy and he stated that Josh would have to look at it and OK it. I asked him to have Josh call me, again no phone call, so I emailed Josh through their website and asked that he come to take a look at the shed with me. A couple of days later I had a message on my answering machine. Josh said he had been out and looked at it and that it was fine and that I could go ahead and start painting. I phoned him back and asked him how he accessed my backyard since it has a 6' wooden privacy fence and I knew both gates were locked. He stated that he looked over the fence. The closest he could've gotten would have been about 15' away and that would have been a side angle and that's if he had brought a ladder to stand on as the ground slopes on that side. He needs to see and to feel how the wood is bubbled up and cracked. I asked him to come out and look at it with me, but he flatly refused that invitation. He once again brought up the 100.00 coupon I used. He stated that since the shed was on sale I shouldn't have been able to use it. I'd be more than happy to give them the 100.00 if they'd just replace the defective wood on the front of the shed, after all, the wood all came from the same batch. I have since asked a neighbor to come over and look at it. He said the wood is bad and needs replaced. I asked him if I used wood putty and sanded it down if he thought it would be OK. He said maybe for a year or so, but since the front side faces the west I'd probably have to replace it again. I feel quite sure the reason they don't want to replace the front is because it is much more labor intensive than the sides which they just reskinned. It would require removing the trim, doors, and rebuilding the doors. I actually feel like I am being bullied by them to just accept this inferior product.
Response from Woodland Mfg and Supply
"The building is in fine shape, there is nothing wrong with the front siding. I have been building since 1975 and assured the customer that if anything went wrong with the siding we could replace. The customer has not put a sealer on the building so the wood has dried and checked, just like wood fences, telephone poles etc. This is what occurs but does not require replacement. The customer has a building that looks better than any of the models on our lot. We typically do not seal many of our models so as not to misrepresent our product. I find it difficult to understand her displeasure. The building can be painted or stained to slow the natural aging of the wood, the wood will not rot if she does not, it will continue to weather and in a few years look like a weathered barn, not rotting or in anyway structurally unsound just weathered. Again our models clearly illustrate what she is seeing, male or female I back up my product, but cannot fix what is not broken."

I got it all set up and going without any problems. They got it done earlier than they quoted me and the overall quality is great. There was 1 small repair that needed to be made after the initial construction was complete however. I called multiple times to try and get them to come out finish it. It took awhile for them to come out(3-4 weeks), but eventually it got done. Communication was a bit of a problem toward the end as I was passed back and forth between Josh and Skip and neither ever knew that I had talked to the other. Overall a good experience though.

We were concerned because where we were putting it where water collects. They made sure they put it up on blocks so its not a problem. It was great. They helped us make sure we had enough light and they installed skylights for the shed.

Josh answered all questions during the sale. He was very helpful in making options selections. On site models provided a good idea as to the final product I would receive. Final construction was within 10 days of sale.

Josh is especially good at helping select mats, frames, colors, etc. Although they were a bit slow in completing the work, the wait was well worth it.
