DICK'S SPORTING GOODS

They had a big selection. Their support is average. We had a problem when we went to the store to buy the basketball goal, we did not realize that it came in a small box and could sit in the back of our van, we thought it was all very big pieces. So when the salesman asked if it needed to be delivered we said yes because we thought it had to be delivered but he did not tell us there was an extra delivery charge. Moreover, when I asked whether that included the delivery and setup, he said yes. When the gentleman came to deliver the basketball goal, he did not have the permission to set it up because we had not paid for set up. I said the salesman told us that the setup and delivery was for the same price. He said he did not have the authority to do that. We said to take it back and we were going to cancel the order. He said not to do that and he would call his supervisor. They said they were sorry about the mix up, they moved it there and would arrange for the setup the next day, which they did. However, if I would not have said something they would have charged me twice, once for the delivery and then for the setup. They definitely led us in the wrong direction. When I saw the box that it was in, it was maybe 6 feet long. This could have gone in the back of the van and we would not have had to pay for the delivery charge. I just felt that they were trying to get more money out of us. Instead of asking how big our car was, he automatically asked for delivery. It did not feel right and we felt we were, not exactly cheated but definitely led in the wrong direction. It was a $6 delivery fee and I thought that had to include setup too but setup was another $50. That felt like cheating to me. In terms of price, I thought the price was fair for what we had. In terms of professionalism, the people at the store were not so great but the guy who came to deliver it was very good. I would probably use their services again in the future because they are the only sporting good company here.
