Brewer Custom Floors and More

I talked with Greg Garrison, one of the owners, over the phone about the type of tile I liked, and he brought out a few boards (since I do not live close to Avon). I absolutely loved one of the tile selections for the floor! He had really tracked exactly what I was looking for. I bought the shower tile from another vendor because I had already chosen these. Greg promptly gave me a quote for the floor tile, and for the installation of the floor and shower tile. I made the downpayment. His company began the work on the exact date they said they would. He came out periodically to check on the work, and talk with me to see how things were going. He gave me pointers on grout selection and sealers. The installer was a true artisan. My shower and floor are gorgeous! Greg is a very nice person, is primarily concerned with the customer being satisfied, sells quality products, and hires professional installers. There were many times I was not at home when they were working, and I felt comfortable. This is not normal for me. Ours was not an easy installation. As often happens, there were some unforeseen contingencies. Nevertheless, he stuck with his original estimate, was courteous, and apologetic for any delays or inconveniences, even if they were not his fault. I give this company my highest recommendation.

The installers were good, but the follow-up was non-existent. What they did well, is there were two crews that worked. We had two areas that ceramic was installed in. One of the crews was excellent. They did an excellent job. The second crew did an okay job. They didn't do an excellent job by any means. Obviously I the first time I got the A-team, the second time I got the C-team. The thing that was most disturbing, was the fact that it was absolutely impossible to get phone calls returned when I called the office. Early on I called the office to get them lead on additional business and they wouldn't return my calls. After they finished, I called probably ten times and never received a call back. I always got an answering machine responds. I think he probably had a caller ID and he saw who was calling and didn't answer. Because I did end up giving the number to a friend who called them and he answered immediately. So I think it was a situation where caller ID was saying it was me and he wasn't going to answer. And they came highly recommended, so I didn't know what to do. What they could do differently, is being responsive. When you call someone, you expect some sort of customer service. You expect them to respond to you, at least. And several times we called we were just trying to find out when they were going to be here. But then after the fact, we just could not get a response. I obviously won't be doing business with them again.

I was referred to Greg Garrison by a contractor I met at the Indianapolis Home Show. I contacted Greg and told him what I wanted to do.  He brought samples of carpeting and hardwood to my house.  We  decided on Solid oak flooring (Somerset Color Collection, 3 1/4 " x 3/4 ") and Mohawk Smart Strand carpet.  I also ordered a 12' x12' piece of carpet that he had bound and backed to make an area rug for our great room.  Installation was spread out over a couple of weeks to give us time to move things back into rooms before the next area was started. So they laid carpet upstairs, then did the wood floors (entryway, office, great room and dining room), and then did downstairs carpeting and the stairway.  It was interesting to try to decide on a location to store the 43 boxes of hardwood that needed to sit in our house for several days to acclimate to temperature and humidity levels before installation could begin.  We filled up the dining room with boxes!  The installers were great! They were very professional and particular about precision and they always cleaned up the work areas nicely.   Jarrett and Tom were especially good to work with for the 4 days they spent with us doing the hardwood floors. They had a LOT of furniture to move, a lot of "squeaks" in the floor to address before beginning, and then they we so pedantic about inspecting each piece of wood before installing it.  We are very pleased with the outcome!

This is the second time I have used Brewer. I used them about 5 years ago when I had a new floor installed in the downstairs. The price aws good, we got exactly the product we wanted, and they were super flexable when scheduling. They got everything done in a timely manner and were very easy to work with. The one thing that was an issue is when one of the installers scratched the wall pretty good while moving furniture. They were very proactive in getting it fixed however, and were professional and responded fast to cooridnate a drywall person.Overall everything went well and I would reccomend them to anyone! The hardwood floors are absolutely beautiful.  Unfortunately the getting there was difficult.  We were on a very tight time frame for all the construction which was completed, but this was communicated up front and Brewer personnel agreed to the timeline.  Unfortunately their subs did not seem to have the same sense of urgency.  Unfortunately the communication regarding the delays was lacking.
I will say that once we put the spurs to them they got the job done over the weekend, but much of the heartache could have been avoided with better communication.

They did an exceptional job. They also give excellent customer service. The owner of the company called to follow after the installation. This was very impressive. I would definitely use them again and will recommend them to my friends.

Greg Garrison was the worker we dealt with. He was very well mannered. Our floors look very nice. They did not damage anything when they put in the floor. They did it all in one day. Their pricing was very competitive. They were very prompt and responsible to schedule with. They always called back when I could not get a hold of them. They are an overall good company. We purchased everything through them. And we plan on using them next summer to get another bathroom redone.

A kitchen remodel is a major over-haul project.  Gutting the original tile floor prior to replace it with new tile is a long process.  Brewer did their best to maintain a schedule that got us through this inconvenience as effortlessly as possible.  They were very concientious about taping off the areas not being reomodeled to eliminate as much construction dirt as possible.  They were careful not to damage other parts of the kitchen.  The installation went well and the installer did an excellent job and made our new floor look fantastic.  The same person installed the backsplash and it turned out great too.  I have used Brewer previously for a carpet installation, so that is why I called them back for this job.  Once again, I was very pleased with the end results and I would call them back whenever we have additional flooring needs.

Gregg came to my home, left me smples took measurements of everything i wanted done. He sent me a detailed list of costs so i could make decisions on what what i wanted done. he found a good vapor barrier and told me how or what i could do to lower the installation. All said and done i wasnt sure about the cost so i called and asked if there was anyway he could get me the carpet i wanted and install it for what i could afford. he assured me it could be done and now i have beautiful new carpet. The insallers that laid the carpet were not only on time but early, were very quick, efficient and did a great job. they took the time to explain some things that they had to do due to the flooring being very old. Over all the company did a great job, and allowed me to keep the samples until i had made a decision and had the carpet installed.

They did a great job, were very professional and had complete trust in their employees. I can't say enough about them.

Excellent Job - We are very satisified.

I got two estimates and for the type and quality of carpet we wanted Brewer came in just about $30 lower than the other estimate. Brewer also said the work could be done in one day whereas the other company said 2 days due to a drain we have on the lower level and the tack strips needing to be glued instead of nailed. The installers were thorough and quick. I was told it would be a long day of work but it only took them about 6 hours from start to finish. Kevin Brewer came out to check on things after the installers arrived. The installers worked straight through and after they left I found a patch of carpet where they had dripped some adhesive. I called Kevin Brewer immediately and the installer came right back out and fixed it. The carpet looks absolutely wonderful and is great quality. My only complaint is that the installers left nails on the floor in our laundry room, bathroom and garage floor. I wasn't happy to have to clean up after them. Overall a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to call Brewer for future flooring needs.

The work turned out to be wonderful. They were very prompt and professional. They cleaned up after finishing the job and they followed up very well too. I will use them again for the master bathroom.

I had removed carpet from this area which left residue on the old vinyl. The two men who came moved the refrigerator to another room, scraped off the residue from the old vinyl, and put down two coats of a sealant to prepare the surface. They installed the new vinyl. They painted and then installed quarter round at all appropriate edges. They installed metal edging at three doorways to make a smooth transition from vinyl to carpet. They moved the refrigerator back to its place. The men who did the work were polite and cleaned up thoroughly. They came 30 minutes early and worked steadily to enable me to leave on time for an evening engagement.

The owner, Greg Garrison, came to our house to provide samples and options, met with us a couple of times to discuss pricing and installation and visited the house during the installation process and afterwards. Although the carpet could have been purchased a bit cheaper on-line, the personal touch of knowing the folks doing the work was worth it. The installers, Danny and Ben, did the hard work, and we would recommend them to anyone. Congenial, hard-working, accomodating and efficient.

Kevin Brewer came highly recommended from another business I have used. One could not ask for a anyone to be more professional, helpful and good to work with than Kevin . He clearly presented the various pros and cons on different flooring solutions and helped me select the best product for my application. The work with performed while I was out of town and was done perfectly. Although I never saw the installer at work, the finished product clearly illustrated he was a craftsman. I was so happy with Kevin and his company they are creating a small carpeting project for me. Also, once my new counter tops are installed, I'm having them do a tile back splash. From my experience, I can certainly recommend Brewer Custom Flooring and More as a highly capable and wonderful company to work with.

Walked into the store with no appointment. Kevin really listened to what I said as to what I wanted and not wanted. Did not try to sell me more expensive material. Very cooperative in helping me showing different samples. I was not rushed to make a decision. They were able to come out to measure the rooms within a couple days. They had made a suggestion to put the tile around the shower area too. Instead, I asked for an estimate to replace the shower. It required a couple extra days to get those figures together. I was notified that the estimate would be delayed because of that. After accepting their estimate, it was a very short time before they were able to start the job. I was told it would be a week to finish everything and that is what it took. Installers took their time to make sure everything was done correctly and to high standards. Made sure I understand the pros and cons of each option. Made suggestions based on their experiences. Very, very easy to talk with. Always willing to stop to answer any questions. Part of the work was to replace the front and support to my garden tub. Another company required a different person to do all the carpentry work. The tile installer also redid the tub surround, replace the subfloor, and installed the base board. It was very nice not having to work with multiple people and coordinate their schedules. Everybody was very careful to contain the mess to the immediate area. They cleaned up every night. On the few occasions they left some equipment in the room, they asked my permission first. Extremely happy with the outcome. Everybody who has seen it are impressed. I will be using them again when doing other work. The only negative was the cost was higher than liked but it was in line with estimates from other companies. I just have a hard time accepting how much more it costs for tile flooring.

Our overall experience was great. Kevin came to the house and worked with us to keep us in the budget we wanted to stay in. He took care of everything from start to finish. He came out to the house for the estimate and brought several samples with him. When we could not find something in our price range he found a product that was very high quality for a less expensive price. He also has a store with list of other options from carpet to hardwood. After the floors were installed he came by to make sure everything was ok. We're going to repalce the carpet up stairs this summer and we're going to use them again. A great company!

They did a really good job and they were pleasant to work with. They kept my house as clean as they could and we are very happy with the floors. They took extra care on our stairs since it is a high traffic area and we really liked it. The only problem that we had was the scratching of the laminate and they warned us that it could happen. They also fixed a spot that our couch scratched up.
