KINGS LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION

Our contractor installed french drains from our downspouts into the front yard.  We had had many conversations on the grading of the yard and its effect on water getting into our basement.  The front yard was pretty torn up anyway, so the contractor suggested that we get a landscaper to do the grading and he recommended King.  Because we had spent so much already on projects with the contractor, I was looking for the cheapest price.  I will say King did not have high marks on Angie's List, but I decided his price, his recommendation from the contractor, and the fact that I wasn't looking for much more than clean up, were why I decided to go with them.  When Sean came by and we started talking more about plantings and other front yard projects, his response was so positive and helpful, I added more to the job.  Let alone the water control, the front yard ended up prettier than it has been in years and Sean King was great to work with. 

Initially was OK with the job performed in July of 2007. Had to have Sean return on some issues due to detail work being sloppy. One plant was dead within a week of planting that was to be replaced when two other trees were to be put in. Took many phone calls to get him to respond about putting in the two trees. A disagreement developed over payment of the two trees that were not put in during the original work. As I had no documentation I had accept the fact I was not getting the trees. The following spring two other plants did not come back. Sean has a one year warranty but will not return phone calls. I want the three dead plants replaced, but he will not return phone calls. We will be going to court. He was my lowest bid, the price was very good, but you get what you pay for. It seems that once you have paid him his interest in you is over. After my experience I talked with the builder who recommend him, and said that he also has recently had problems with Sean. I would not recommend using his services.
