Aaron came in and LISTENED to what I identified as my problem with our heating unit. He quickly was able to identify what the problem was. Aaron gave me real options (most of which I was already aware of) and we worked through a solution. He was able to provide a temporary solution that has, thus far kept our house warm through these extremely cold temperatures and ordered the part needed to, hopefully, keep us warm through the rest of the winter. There service department was prompt and responsive. I would definitely recommend Reeder. I am thus far truly happy and satisfied with Reeder and look forward to having a positive relationship going forward. Thanks guys.

Installed on a rainy day in August 2016. Installers were on time, professional and courteous. Installed in less than a day. Cleaned up and removed all debris and packaging. Excellent job. Everything working well when they left. A little hesitation on the thermostat; they said they only install a few infinity systems per year. Mine has worked fine with no problems. Have switched between a/c and heat, both working well. I went from a 16 year old single stage system to the infinity. I programmed to my iPhone, app is easy to download, easy to use. Cost was $8842 less $1650 rebates. Had initial problem doing rebates online. Valerie in the office very helpful in getting those thru for me. Can't comment on long term quality of the system but great installation, service and product so far.

They were very honest about the problem, and were reasonable. He was going to fix the thermostat, but I asked him to just replace it as a preventative.

It worked fine for about a week, then stopped working again. We called to tell them they needed to come back and they said only for more money. Then they rudely told us to go find someone else to fix it. So $400 out the door for nothing. We are livid! What a shame, we own 40 properties and were really hoping to find a reliable repair person.
Response from REEDERS HEATING & AIR
"In response to your negative comments, we must first understand the facts. If the home you are referring to is a rental unit in Anderson, we did communicate with the man who called in on this matter as we have not spoken with you. We came out to this home and diagnosed the unit low on refrigerant. Our technician called the man that called in when he was at the job site and explained to him what he found and was told to just fix it. We charged the unit and added UV dye to the system so that we may come back and find the leak. He was charged for the diagnostic fee, refrigerant, and UV dye in the sum of $368.00 which is very comparable to standard market rates. It was noted on the invoice under recommendations that we come back and perform a leak search once the dye has made its way through the system so that we may find the area of the leak. When we had the man call back in we did tell him we would come back out without charging a diagnostic fee but there would be a charge for the repair of the leak. He was extremely rude to the office staff so it was handed off to the Service Manger to give him a call. The Service Manager tried several times to explain to this man that we would come back out, not charging another diagnostic fee and tell him where the repair needed to be made but there would be a repair charge for fixing the leak. This man was demanding the unit be fixed at no charge and it was explained to him that we had not previously charged him for any repairs and that any repairs would be chargeable. He was very belligerent so was told we no longer would do business with him. We try our best to accommodate our customers and keep prices at a minimum but will not be bullied or intimidated with threats of posting negative remarks on Angie’s List into providing unpaid services. If you wish to speak with either the Service Manager or Owner on this matter, please feel free to call the office."

We purchase a new home in May with an electric heat pump. When the weather got
cold our electric bills started going through the roof, so I checked the
air handler in the basement and found a sticker indicating that Reeder
Heating and Air in Anderson, IN had installed the unit, and had serviced it occasionally
throughout the years. I called to schedule a service and inspection
at a cost of $84. The tech came and did a cursory inspection of the unit
and wiped down a couple of things with a paper towel, took readings
from the starting capacitors, and was gone in just over 20 minutes. When
he was finished he told me that everything was working properly and
that I probably just needed a more efficient unit. I paid him and the
next day started calling around for estimates to replace our old system.
One of the companies I called said our problem sounded like we just had
a bad element in our air handler and may not need a new unit yet, and offered to come on Saturday to
see if he was correct. He said he would need to charge me $75 to do a
diagnostic, to which I agreed. When he arrived he did a full diagnostic
and found that the sequencer controlling the center element was not
working. I watched him take his readings and confirmed that there was no power to the center heating element. I was very surprised to learn that this was the case since
Reeder had just been out a week or so before, but decided to wait until
Monday to call them and see what they had to say about it. So at this
point I have spent $84 to Reeder for a flawed inspection, and an
additional $75 to find out what I should have know about from Reeder. Plus my unit is still not working properly.
On Monday morning at around 10 AM I
called and left a message for the service manager to
call me, and my call was returned at around 3 PM the same day. The
gentleman I spoke to, who identified himself as the service manager, was
willing to listen while I told him about what had happened. Initially
he agreed with me that this problem should have been identified by their
tech during my $84 inspection, at which point my heat pump would be
working properly and I would have only had the extra cost of the part,
and assured me that he would speak to the tech about it. We spoke a
little more and I told him that I felt that they should come to my home
and replace the part at no additional charge to me, but was told that
while he did feel that they should have taken care of this during the
initial visit, the best he was willing to do was come and replace it for
me, but would not take care of the part. For that I would have to pay
even more money.
While I realize that they were not legally obligated to help me defray the cost of the second inspection and diagnostic, I would have thought a long established company like Reeder would have wanted to make me happy in this instance in order to not only gain a new service customer, but also an excellent prospect for a new unit in just another year or two.
Finally, I mentioned to the service manager that I was a regular reporter to Angies List, but was met with complete indifference regarding same.
Looks like I am in the market for a new HVAC company, because these folks are not in contention for any more of my hard-earned dollars.

They were excellent. I would give them an A+. I was facing a back surgery and my air conditioning went out and we didn't know how in the world we were going to get a new one in here in time for my recovery. They didn't have any openings until the 21st, and we called them around the 10th. I spoke with the owner who said sometimes his employees would finish a couple hours early on certain jobs and that they could come late in the afternoon if we didn't mind and finish it over a couple of days. They came that next Monday and finished over the next couple days. They really went above and beyond for us.

They were fast and courteous. The blower was the only thing working on a house we bought so I called Reeder's to come out and take a look. They were out there the next day, when another well known company told me they couldn't make it until 3 days later. Anyway, the technician found that someone had cut the wires on the unit outside so all he had to do was repair that and got the unit working.

Their work is excellent. They're a little high, but you get what you pay for. Whenever I've needed them, they've always been here.
