It went fantastic, repaired problem, no spoiled food, fix problem with out using Whirlpool kit, fix it with his successful remedy..very pleasant man, easy to talk to. didn't charge the full repair amount because he was able to fix problem in half the time. The reason why I rated a B was the person that took msg from recorder took down wrong phone number but repairman went out of his way and found me in the phone book.

He was great! He didn't mess around. He found the problem. He gave us an estimate of the cost of repair which was almost the cost of a brand new machine. What we didn't realize is that now a days, the life expectancy of a washing machine of our type, year of manufacture, etc is only about 5-6 years. Ours was nearly 8 years old. I did some research after the repair man left and found that he was correct regarding life expectancy. We could spend nearly $800 to repair a machine that was already past life expectancy and risk more things going wrong in a short period, or just start over...We opted to start over. We bought a new machine and had the delivery people haul off the old one. (In case you're wondering, this was not a case of "up selling". We did not buy our machine from Hoppes, nor did he try to sell us on buying from there.) We knew up front there was a service fee/trip charge that would be deducted from our bill had we followed through with the repair. We feel like this man was honest and up-front, and professional. We really appreciated his honesty and opinion. I just wish I had written this review then while I remembered his name :(

Service man was punctual and professional. He took the unit to the repair shop to track down problem and replace faulty part, then installed it and tested the unit to ensure proper functioning. Replacing this unit in a combination built-in wall unit would have been expensive, so the cost of this repair was well worth the cost.

I am not someone who complains, but I've been very disappointed in Hoppies.
After spending $300+ dollars my PARENTS fridge still didn't work. This was over several months in the Spring/Summer of 2013. Finally their service tech admitted he didn't know what to try next. Numerous calls later they agreed to partially refund the money...AND TAKE the non-working fridge in July. They did give about $100 back, but the fridge still sits in their garage.
Repeated calls to "Mike" about honoring his agreement to pickup the non-working fridge have resulted in a creative variety of excuses and unfulfilled promises of times to pickup the fridge.
I'm a FIRM believer in supporting the local folks. But, really, this is WAY over the top bad customer service. Calls go to voice mail. Promises of "we'll be there Thursday" are empty. (How can a company stay in business if their trucks are always "broke down?")
I have tried every avenue available before posting this to Angies List.

I called for a repair on my Samsung front loading dryer. It was not heating up so clothes were not drying as they should. I called on a Wednesday. I was so relieved when they said they could send someone out the next day. I let them know that my husband was a 2nd shift worker and that he had to leave for work by 330pm and that I did not get home until 530pm but that any time other than that two hour period would be fine for the repairman to come out. They took my husbands cell phone number so they could call when they were on their way. On Thursday they did call but not until 330pm when my husband was on his way to work! Evidently the information their dispatch had given the repairman was to call at 330p rather than the homeowner left for work at 330p. After some discussion my husband agreed to try on Friday to have them come out. No problem they told him. They would make sure to get here well before 330p and again would call when they were on their way. Friday came and went with no repairman and no phone call. We were not too happy but, still in need of the repair so, I called Saturday (reaching an answering machine) left my name, number etc and asking them to call since we had not heard anything from them on Friday. On Monday they called, apologized stating they had called the wrong phone number. My husband had an early meeting before his shift started on Monday so arrangements were made to have the repair done on Tuesday. Today is Tuesday. Finally they came out and two hours, (not to mention almost a week after my first call to the company) $283 later finally fixed the dryer by replacing the heating element. I was disappointed in the length of time it took them to come out on a service call and the general disorganization they seemed to have in arranging their calls. I also felt the cost was a bit high although I guess I'm not too well versed on the going rate for an appliance repair as this is the first I have had done in many years.

I hope I won't need an appliance repaired again any time soon but if I do I think I'll give another company a try next time.

There was no A/C in my house so it was very hot. He was so polite and never complained. He was very professional and my freezer is working fine.
