DOUG'S TREE & SHRUB & STUMP

Purchased a home in Anderson, IN that needed trees and shrubs removed. House was badly overgrown, and there were several large dead trees that had to be removed as well. This company was quick enough to respond and start the work, but it didn't take long to see that the quality of the work might not be what it was promised to be.My main gripe is that they seemed to want to take shortcuts wherever possible. For example, when they were removing a large bush from beside my deck they tried to talk me into just letting them cut it to the ground and then letting it come back, saving them having to use the stump grinder on it. I told them no, I had agreed to the price based on all stumps and roots being removed. Another time they showed up to remove the last tree and just used a chainsaw and axe to try to remove the stump. Of course, all they were able to do is get it fairly level to the ground. Again, not what I agreed to. Had I not been here each time to see these things I suspect they would have done even less. The real kicker is that when they cut out all the overgrown bushes they didn't even bother to remove the weed shield that was on the ground around them, so of course now they are all growing back from the roots that were never removed. I called the owner last Saturday and he promised to return this week to fix it.I haven't seen or heard from him yet, but will update this once I see if he is actually going to be good at his word.For now, I would be careful about calling Doug's Tree and Stump Service in Anderson, IN.
