"This customer is correct. The paint color did bleed through. The glazing in one window did look awful because it was not complete. The front of the house did have one coat of primer and one coat of paint, which is what the job was bid for. What you are not hearing is the full story. Granted it is my responsibility to decide if painting can be done due to weather conditions. I messed up. The color of the paint had so much colorant in it that the heavy dews we had caused the colorant to bleed through. After applying two additional coats to both sides and back (now there are four coats of product) and seeing the same results, we stopped. My sales rep came out and has told me that all materials will be supplied at no additional cost to repaint the house this coming summer. He has been informed that. I have NOT been paid in full for the job and the customer is holding two of my ladders valued at over $300 in his shed. I have assured him that I will make it right, but I will not attempt this till I feel the weather is suitable for painting such a dark color. I will follow through with my word for him. I will not expect the balance of $350, just my ladders. And is it really necessary to throw my financial position out there? You have really gone too far with this.
