MY HEATER IN MY HOME WENT OUT YESTERDAY AND I CALLED JEFF AT KERN HEATING AND COOLING TO HAVE SOMEONE TO COME OUT TO FIX IT. HE SENT TECHNICIAN SERGIO OUT THE NEXT MORNING TO REPAIR MY FURNACE THAT NEEDED A THERMOCOUPLE. HE DID A GREAT JOB.

We had them come out and suggest the product and install a new a/c system and a new furnace and they have been the only ones to do the routine maintenance. This was only 3 years ago and was roughly 7,000 dollars. Approximately $3,000 of that was for the new a/c unit with install. Again, they are also the only ones to have touched it since then. We just had them come out for the a/c tune up and were told we were leaking freon and that it would be almost $300 an hour to look for the leak and that would take at least 2 hours and just under $200 a pound for freon, which we probably needed 2 pounds. That being said, 3 years in, we were now being expected to pay almost 1/2 of what the unit cost only 3 years ago to fix it. The furnace and a/c unit we had in the house when we bought it were over a decade old and neither cost us that much money until almost a decade later. We have been advised that this problem only happens this early on when the install job was done poorly or there is a defect in the material. We were all set to pay again for the yearly maintenace on both which was supposed to be a flat fee of $200. However, after this, we only paid for 1 1b of freon to be added and of course the tuneup, which still ended up costing us over $400. Now we are still left knowing we are low on freon and have a leak that will undoubtedly cause us problems in the not too distant future. I think it was understandable that myself and my husband were upset by this turn of events. And the worst thing of all is that the technician got very s***** with my husband even after he said " I know it's not your fault, but this is not right" . I had to yell at him to leave my house, and pay him the amount that was now double what we anticipated, in my driveway, to keep him from arguing with my husband. Very unprofessional and obviously no backing of their workmanship or product or even any understanding of our disapointment and shock and now we are going to have to find someone else to fix our very new but also very broken system. My next move after writing this will definitely be to contact the better business bureau about our experience.

The pricing was very fair & the company gave me a discount, and helped me by registering the purchase to receive a $75 rebate from their company. There were 3 guys out within the same week to install & were finished within 4 hours. They even cleaned up after installation. They were prompt, professional, kind, & patient to answer any concerns about the products. I appreciate a company who knows their stuff! I will definitely use them again and I will refer them to everyone without hesitation! Thanks to the entire Kern Company for everything!

Gina was great to work with. She was very responsive to any questions as we collected information on what we needed done with our furnace. The crew that installed the new furnace and A/C were very neat - they put tarps down throughout the house so they did not walk on our flooring. They were professional and completed the install in a timely manner.

Great, installed new unit and removed old unit. Took about 3 hours total but made sense for all the work that was being done.

The provider was prompt, professional and informative.

They did a really great job. They were very thorough in their explanations of everything, and worked very efficiently. They were prompt in their replies, their pricing was competitive, and I would absolutely recommend them.

As far as we know the work was done to check and clean the indoor and outdoor units. The AC had been operating and is still operating. However, Carlos performed work to seal a hole where a rodent had entered the condenser unit without talking with us first and when asked to show us the where the rodent was entering said the problem had already been fixed. After he left we inspected the unit and could see no sign of rodent damage. After we called the office, Carlos returned to show us what he had done. He had placed a rock over a two inch hole the electrical wires were designed to pass through at the top of the unit and plastered it in with silicone sealant. He showed us maple tree seeds and said the rodent had brought them in. After we noted there were always maple tree seeds in the unit, he offered to remove his seal and remove the $61 charge from the invoice. We said "Great"! Please note that only the top of this channel in the condenser was sealed so entry at the bottom by the naughty little rodent was still possible and the wires had no damage. We also questioned $61 being charged for this type of work and were told it is the minimum charge for repairs.
Bottom line: unnecessary work was performed without approval and a charge of $61 added to our routine maintenance fee. We may have been targeted because of our ages. The $61 was removed from the invoice.

They were a local company that was near me, so that is why I used them. I was not pleased with the company. They were there for 45 minutes and they were done. I thought the cost was a little high to only be there for 45 minutes. When I got the invoice, the technician had noted on the invoice that the furnace was dirty and really needed to be cleaned. My complaint was that why didn’t they clean the furnace when they were already there. I would now have to do another service call to get them or another company come back out just to clean it, which is typically like $100. They could have easily done it on the date that they were there, but instead they charged me $274 for the part and recommended that I get the furnace cleaned. I actually informed them of that but I didn’t get a response, so I decided that I won’t use them again. They responded in a timely manner. I think I called them and they were able to get someone out the following day, so that was good. I called them because they are only about 10 minutes away from the property. I haven’t had any problems since with the furnace.

Kern's entire staff were prompt, courteous and professional.
They returned my call right away, and set up an appointment for that afternoon.
She listened to what I wanted to do, and then provided several options which would meet my requirements.
Notably, she did not try to up-sell me things I didn't need or want.
Kern also took care of submitting the paperwork for rebates from the utility companies.
The crew showed up on time, and got right to work removing the old system.
They completed the entire job in ~six hours, including removal of the old system, installation of the new one, including an in line humidifier and programmable thermostat., haul away of the old system, and clean up of the job site.

Rick, technician was on time, courteous, efficient, helpful.

Service went very well.  The gentleman was nice and thorough.  He pointed out a part that was marginal and discussed my repair options and his opinion without pushing me into an expensive decision.  He also discussed my options with Kern Heating for an ongoing maintenance contract - again, without any pressure.  I haven't decided on the contract yet but I will certainly bring Kern back for any future HVAC needs I have.

Maintenance on two heating units and two humidifiers.  Also paid for future maintenance on two AC units.  Went very well.  Brad was the technician and very knowledgeable.  This is my third time using them.

We've used them for 28 years since we moved here. They did a beautiful job.

Everything went great.  They were real nice.  They got it done real fast.  I didn’t have any problems.

INSTALLED REPLACEMENT HOT WATER HEATING SYSTEM IN HOME. HAD TO HAVE THEM RETURN 3 TIMES IN ADDITION TO THE DAY OF INSTALLATION TO REPAIR LEAKS IN WHAT THEY HAD INSTALLED.
