They were east to work with, had great ideas, the project turned out beautifully, great suggestions, trying to get your house polish, professional.

Three years ago I hired Yorkville Hill Landscaping to replace my landscape lighting. It was very expensive but I thought by paying so much I would get quality work and good support for it. About 4 months ago, half of my rear landscape lighting stopped working. I contacted them twice before they called back. They said I am 'on the list' and 'it would be about two weeks before they came out.' One month later I am still waiting. I have just found out that they did not replace the outside wiring so for such an expensive job ($4500.00), I have 14-year-old outside wiring. At the same time, they also planted 3 rosebushes that died within one month of planting and they never replaced them like they said they would. I am very disappointed in their warranty and support service for their work.

I hired Yorkville Hill Landscaping in late March / early April of this year (2015) to complete several landscaping jobs around my house.

When I contacted Yorkville Hill Landscaping in March, they were very prompt in responding and setting up a time for a representative to come to my house to discuss my landscaping needs.

Shortly after my initial contact, I met with Omar from Yorkville Hill Landscaping and within days of the meeting, Omar provided me a quote for my projects.

I agreed upon the quote and work began a few weeks later.

One job was to replace a dead maple tree, 2 Colorado blue spruces, and a green abortive that had died the following year.  The crew did a fantastic job and the replacements fit in wonderfully with my existing landscape.  Once the crew was done, and fresh mulch was laid, you could not tell the replacement shrubs from the ones that were existing.   The crew even moved my decorate rocks to replace the tree and then returned the rocks once they had finished.  The total cost for the shrub replacements and fresh mulch around my existing landscaping beds was $2,050.00.  I though this was a fair price given the size of the replacement tree and shrubs and the amount of mulch that was needed.

The second job was to create a new landscaping bed along my back property line.  The quote called for 2 arborvitaes, 4 lilac bushes, roses, daises, and lillys.  Omar had promised a phone call before the crew was to come to my house so I could be home.  I wanted to see exactly the placing of the arborvitaes and bushes, before they were planted.  Unfortunately, I did not receive a phone call before the work started.  When I returned from work one day, I found the crew had already cut out the landscaping bed and planted the arborvitaes and bushes.  The plantings were not centered with the back yard.  I told my concerns to the crew leader and Omar.  They quickly rectified the situating by moving the arborvitaes and bushes to be more centered with the back of my property line.  I thought that was great customer service!  The price for this new bed was $1,900.00.  The reason I am giving such a low rating to Yorkville Hill is because it has been 3 months since the completion of the plantings and all the daises are growing into the lilac bushes and roses, actually choking out the plants and bushes to death.  There is absolutely no room for the lilac bushes or the roses to grow.  I have worked with landscapers in the past and typically they plan for 5 years, allowing for the bushes and plants to grow and expand.  Unfortunately after spending $1,900 on this bed, I have to hire someone, just after 3 months after the initial planting,  to come out and make the bed bigger and move all the plants so they have room to grow, not to mention, I have to replace the roses because they are dying since they do not have any space to grow.  I am not sure if Omar with Yorkville Hill is new to landscaping design or not, but he definitely did not plan for any growth in my landscaping bed.  Now I have to spend more time and money to make the situation correct.

They were extremely expensive, and the work was not satisfactory.

Excellent Experience! Would use them again. Very professional. Gerardo was my contact for the entire process. He is the designer and in charge of the 4 man crew we had.  He returned all my calls timely as well as a few emails we exchanged.

He came out to give me the quote and as promised....emailed me all the details within 48 hours.  He came out the day of the job to walk thru everything with me to make sure it was all what I expected before the work was started.

 The job was completed in 1 day. One gentleman came back the next morning for about an hour to lay the river rock in no time.  My neighbors were shocked at how fast they all worked.

Great company and will use again for some more work next Spring.

They did a very good job. I cant complain about the work. I moved everything that I felt like would be in there way or they didn't need to be around a head of time and one of the workers took something very sentimental to me. I really burned me up, because it wasn't in there work way. They did great work, I would give them an A on the work, they were on time. Just keep and eye out of your things and make sure you remove anything valuable out of site.

My experience with Yorkville Hill was outstanding from start to finish.  When I called to schedule a quote in April, I was able to get an appointment within a few days.  I dealt with Omar Vazquez throughout the process and found him to be professional, helpful, and (so important to me) punctual.  When I explained what I wanted to do and the material I wanted to use for the wall (Unilock Rivercrest Wall), he pointed out that it would be expensive and suggested alternatives to bring cost down.  I stuck with the original materials, but appreciated his willingness to offer alternatives.  He delivered the quote in the time promised.  On the day work began, a crew of three arrived early in the morning  and confirmed the work to be performed before commencing.  They built a paver walkway out to the mailbox, a retaining wall around the front porch, and a step for the front door.  Omar checked in several times throughout the day.  The crew did a beautiful job and finished in one day, thoroughly cleaning the site before leaving for the evening.  I was dissatisfied with the appearance of one of the pieces of coping on the wall, and they came the next day and swapped it out.  I couldn't be happier with the work and would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone who could use their services.

How the woman explained to me that she wasn't able to help me was pretty rude.  Business is business and you never know what kind of referrals or other work down the road could come out of a small job.  I love to refer businesses I deal with to help them get more business and unfortunately I will be telling people not to call them.  Not sure why they got an A rating.

When I called them and asked for an estimate she said that she would call me back.  We were thinking about doing a retaining wall and wanted to also get mulch and a spring clean up.  She called back and said that they were too busy to come out and she gave me a price that seemed quite random.  We decided we would not give them the business if they were not willing to come to our house (which is only 5-10 minutes away) and give us an estimate.

They came out and they did the estimate and we have not any work done for them.  We had several other people that we are going to get an estimate from.  We want to shop around to find the best deal.

They were prompt and thorough.  They cleaned up after work.  It was professionally done.  They were reasonably priced.

Thing were fine, the one problem was fixed quickly and they were done in a day.

I thought these people were great. One of the brothers that owns the place was the one that came out and did the estimate and he was very pleasant to work with and when we had the patio put in, we actually four bids, so he bid that patio and then we had some other pieces of the original plan that we had not executed yet. He also did fix some of the problems we were having with the original stuff and his crew was great and they did not damge our lawn. They have to come front to back and we have a fairly large yard and got all the equipment in and out here without ruining our lawn, so they did a fantastic job. 

I started working with 2 landscape design companies to compare designs, responsiveness and prices. Gerardo demostrated to be a great listener and very talented landscape designer. Once the final plans were agreed too, Gerardo gave us a start and estimated end date. My wife and I knew we made the right choice when we saw Yorkville Hills team and equipment in action. They started and finished exactly when they promised and the results exceeded all expectations. In fact once the hardscape was completed Gererado suggested we move 6 existing medium size trees to make more room for air movement around the patio AT NO COST. Several neighbors stopped by when the project was complete to tell us how beautiful the project turned out and how impressed they were with the craftmanship and speed of Yorkville Hill.

We found Yorkhill Landscape, working with Clemete, he was very knowledgeable in how to correct our drainage issues, provide great design ideas and worked on meeting our budget.  Provided 3 different design drawings and made changes during the process.
They showed up on first day with crew of 8 people clearing the area and prepping for the new brick work.  On day two, they had crew of 3 people working very hard laying down the new brick and day three had crew of two people working on the cuts & fine details.  Each day during the installation Clemente was on-site three times a day and communicated with me the on their progress and next steps. They are very professional crew, hard working and plenty of man power to get the job done. 
We change the dates on the installed with the 3 time and they accommodated us with no issues.  Clemente was always easy to get hold of by email or cell phone.  If your looking to get job done right for your new patio, this is the company.  They even had rep from the brick manufacturer visit our installation and they are very proud of the workmanship quality.
