Badly. We hired Dave to bulid our deck and were happy with the completed project. He said he did bathrooms so we hired him for a remodel but on that job he became unreliable and often didn't show up without telling us, then one day stopped showing up altogether - didn't answer texts or e-mails. He contacted us after a week of no resonse and told us in March he was going out of business but I see his website is stiil up. The quality of work that was completed is inconsistent and we're having to bring in other contractors to fix several things.

Work that was completed - deck demo. New decking was installed incorrectly, handrails on deck - incomplete, stabalization of raised deck - not done, expanded with of staircase, but didn't install requested handrails nor did he complete the landing of the stairs. Front porch beam was replace, but downspout only zip tied to beam and handrails installed, but top caps are missing. I was told that the shed didn't have any rotten foundation wood, therefore money would be best spent on putting vinyl siding on shed. Shed and double shed door were never touched. Dave requested 50% payment before work began, another $4000 when job was half completed and the last $1000 when job was completed. After the second payment, my phone calls, text messages and emails were going unanswered. He never showed back up to complete the job. Beware - He under estimates the job, time & materials, keeps asking for money, and then never finishes the job. Only course of action is in court, as he breached the contract.

Dave with Archetype Exteriors was very professional and always had a positive attitude. He was very diligent in seeing the job done properly and to code. He worked hard at obtaining the proper permits and even dealt with our difficult township. He was always very responsive to our questions and quick to offer his guidance on city code. From day one our experience was nothing less than exceptional. We will use their services again and will definitely recommend them to friends and family.
