We had used JustFixIt! for a few minor plumbing repairs in the past and thought they did a good job. But when we hired them to do a more significant project we had a completely different experience. We agreed with JustFixIt! to hire one of their workers for 5 full days, at their going labor rate. We wanted 3 rooms and a garage ceiling painted. We had to get on their waitlist for 6 weeks, but were assured by the office manager that one of their best workers would come to our house on Mon, July 1st and be there for 5 consecutive business days. I pointed out that we had overseas family members moving back in with us on July 11th so the work had to be completed by then. Not a problem, claimed JustFixIt! My wife and I proceeded to pack up all the books, pictures, and personal items, and moved the furniture toward the center of each room. We also purchased the wall and ceiling paint, so everying was ready to go for the painter, who was scheduled to arrive on Mon , July 1st. The painter didn’t show up until 11am on the first day, 9:30am the next, and 12 noon on the 3rd day. At this point the painting project was getting behind. There was no explanation given by the office manager as to why the painter was arriving late and not putting in full days. To make matters worse, his attention to detail was lacking (large nail holes had not been filled in before painting began), he didn’t clean up carefully (the garage floor had splotches of dry wall mud on it and the living room had drywall dust on shelves), and was taking smoking breaks every 30-45 mins. On the 4th day the painter never showed up, and we received no call from the office manager as to where he was. On the 5th and final day, when he was supposed to finish the job, he failed to show up by 12:30pm so we called the office to say we were ending our relationship with him and JustFixIt! (No one answered the office phone, so I left a voicemail, but did not even get a returned call). The company offered no apology nor made any offer to send someone in his place so the 3 rooms could be painted before our guests arrived. Incredibly, we were offered a 10% discount for future work. Now we have a houseful of people with 3 rooms that can’t be used because they are packed up and covered in tarps. To add insult to injury, we had to find a new painting contractor and wait another few weeks until he is available to finish the job. Once we terminated JustFixIt!, my wife and I started getting repeated calls on our cell phones asking us to send in payment for the partial work completed and the materials purchased. All of a sudden, they were interested in communicating with the customer. Because we didn’t return their calls immediately (visiting family in Michigan), the office manager escalated it to one of the owners. He called my cell and left an insinuating voicemail – asking we were avoiding them and “shirking payment” for the amount due. I found it quite insulting for him to say that when we had never even received an invoice that showed the actual hours the painter had worked and itemized the materials he had purchased. Once I received the detailed invoice, and confirmed it agreed with my record of the actual hours worked, I promptly paid the amount owed – even though JustFixIt! failed to perform the services they promised. The office manager even offered to have someone come to the house to pick up the check. I only wished they offered that kind of attention and service to my painting job.

"It is a free country and you are free to say what you want BUT please give all the facts so people can make an informed choice. Your "problem" as you know was something that was unforeseen and you made the choice to not have it repaired. You also forget that the electrician gave a quote of $1800.00 to do just the electric. We did the whole job for less than half of just what the electric would have cost. When your sump pump went out and basement was flooding I loaned you my spare sump pump and even came down and installed it, then you kept it for a year. I also came down at eight o'clock at night when your ice maker line was leaking and repaired it for free. I also came down and helped you put up your big screen TV on the wall for free. You kinda forgot to mention those. I have been in business for 12 years and I have many happy neighbors that would give me good references. We are also licensed, bonded with the city of Woodridge and fully insured. We all know people that regardless of what you do you just can't make them happy... I've found my "Go to Helpers". Was initially impressed with phone communication, and set an appointment to complete the work. They arrived on time, and did a thorough job. Because my laundry room is in a closet, it was necessary to move the washer out of the way to get to the dryer. I had quite a blockage. I will definitely be contacting them for future jobs.

Terrible...the job was started on 8/10..they walked off the job after screwing it up. They cut my cable for Comcast. and all I heard was how much longer it was taking them to drill each hole with a power auger. They don't even know how to use it to get through clay. In the mean time another contractors estimate came through with a Firm Price and not an estimate of over a third less and they would dig all the post holes by hand so no cables get cut. They billed me for their license that's good for a full year in a village over 75,000 people. Don't you think that's a cost of doing Business ? The job was to be completed the week of 8/10/2015.They waited almost a month to inform me of this . The other contractor had to correct their screw ups and did the job in 14 working hours digging every hole by hand. JUST FIX IT OFFERED ME $495 AS MY REFUND..SHOULD BE $800 OR MORE !!!...
SO IF YOU WANT AN EVEN CLOSE TO FAIR ESTIMATE....AND IF YOU DO GET ANESTIMATE FORM THESS GUYS...
THEIR ESTIMATES WILL BE JUST THAT....WHATCH OUT FOR EXTRAS...IT'LL PROBABLY DOUBLE YOUR BILL..IN MY OPINION THEY WALKED OFF THE JOB BECAUSE AFTER GETTING THE 2ND ESTIMATE I MADE THEM COMMIT TO THEIR ESTIMATE. WHEN THEY FIGURE THEY WEREN'T GOING TO MAKE A HUGE PROFIT THEY QUIT. ?

"Just Fix It!! Inc. started the project on August 18, 2015 where we removed the remaining posts that were still up. Moved the entire fence to our trailer from the back yard and we disposed of it for the customer free of charge. We installed 8 panels on the south side of the yard, The post in question was where the gate was going as we figure it needed to be wider for a lawn service mower / Utility machines to get thru, we had/have concerns about the utility’s on east side of the property (back yard) which we stop installation. We had Julie come before the installation and several other times to remark the property, in doing so we came to a conclusion that we needed the main phone line (500 Lines) moved that run the entire length of the property. The phone company stated that it would be several months to get a crew out there to move this line, we informed the customer and he stated he would get someone else out to do the work as Just Fix It!! Inc. did not feel comfortable moving forward and possibly doing damage to the phone line which could have been an even large expense which in our signed contract between Mr.[Member Name Removed] it states "Any unforeseen or hidden damages are the responsibility of the home owner". We offered this customer a fair refund of $495 which was a loss to the company as we had expenses that had to be paid for us to do the work for Mr [Member Name Removed]. Mr. [Member Name Removed] has been harassing Just Fix It!! Inc. Employees and business in which Just Fix It!! Inc. do business with, making statements that may come off as threatening for over the last 2-3 weeks. Just Fix It!! Inc. has gone the local authorities in Bolingbrook & Woodridge with documentation of recent events. Just Fix It!! Inc. has also went to their attorneys. We understand that everyone has their own opinion which is fine but there is 2 sides to every story. If you go back our 10 Yrs. in business on all of our review sites we have never had an issue like this customer has stated. We have documented every correspondence and are more than happy to allow anyone questioning our abilities to look and they can make their own decisions on using our company."

The job went great from start to finish. We couldn't be happier. Doug came to our home on a Friday, we had a quote the following Monday and we were lucky that they had an opening the same week to get the work done by Thursday!
Michael did the work and he did an amazing job. Working with drywall can be dusty, Michael took the time to adequately hang plastic to cover the work area. The work was not only on the ceiling, but it was a ceiling going up a set of stairs. Michael is professional and talented.
We will be calling Just Fix It for more projects!

Mike came out to my house to repair and replace a few broken pieces of siding, including one piece that was up very high, just below the roof of my house. He was professional and efficient while working. Overall, the job took about two hours and now looks as good as new.

Mike came to my home, on time, and met with me to discuss the problems I was having with my downspouts, which were caused by an improper installation by another contractor. He quickly went to work, and was able to take apart, and re-use the existing parts, so I didn't have to buy new ones. He also cleaned my gutters. I was pleased that he finished in about 2 hours.

I contacted them initially in early October and the work got underway in early November. The job was to remove the 2 existing she doors and build 2 new ones. The initial visit was to determine the scope of the job and materials needed. It took perhaps 5 visits total to complete the job, with periods between visits of as much as several weeks where I wouldn't hear from them. I thought several times that they had simply forgotten about me. Communications seemed to be rather difficult, with several misunderstandings that resulted one time in them waiting in my driveway for an hour even though I was home and they had my home phone and cell phone numbers to use. I thought the work they did was good, but I was just disappointed in how drawn-out the work was to get it to 'done'. It should have taken 2 visits to complete the work: one to assess the job and determine needed materials, and one more to do the work. They were pleasant enough to deal with, but I just felt like we were never on the same page with what should be a fairly straight-forward job.

Don is competent, creative and consummately nice. Everything was done exceedingly well. Saved me money and was flexible. Everything was done twice as fast as I expected. Excellent in every way. Anything I asked he did! Honest! Totally happy! Never made me feel stupid, which is sometimes the case with others.

Well They Did not call bac in timely manner then when Did call said a certain Time frame then called early in morning few days later sending someone over now... Then 2 Mini blinds 1Curtains Rod ,,1 piece too exercise bike screwed in .1 hour most I washed the windows as he stood there before Mini's where hung then I dragged the other Verticals blinds too garage that he replaced. Guy Was OK but too stand there when U'r getting paid and let customer wash the window .....Something isn't right then was told 70$ dollars per hour he was here 1 and 1/2 hour so total charge 140.00 Never will call them again Shame on them... Hopefully save another person on this company the president of US doesn't make 70 per hour >>Handyman Service usually around 20 hr not 70 What a scam>>

"We are a licenced, Bonded, and insured company. Not a company that does things on the side. Our Hourly Rate is 70 hr. We offer Senior rate at 60$. Which we just raised our rate after being in business for almost 10 yrs. This customer has used us 3 times in the past and has never had an issue we are booked up about 2-3 weeks in advance and we moved things around to accommodate this customer. The customer at the time the invoice was given there was no issue of her paying the bill. She had my tech hang the blinds, Install a piece on the bike, install Solar light in the front yard wash windows that had layer of smoke on them which he cleaned 3x before the customer tried to get the film off. On top of her being very happy when my tech left she gave him a $10.00 Tip I don't know if it buyers remorse or what not. we offer a quality service and a reasonable rate which is by far one of the lowest rates in the area."

I had several guys from the company out to do the various jobs and they were all very professional, efficient and patient with me constantly asking questions. Installing the kitchen sink turned out to be a little challenging since the cutout wasn't the right size, but they did what they needed to do to get it right and never got frustrated. I would definitely use Just Fix It! again and would recommend them for any type of home improvement project.

He did a great job and the door works perfectly now. The technician knew exactly what he was doing. He completed the job in a half hour.They were easy to schedule and contact. They even rearranged their schedule to accommodate ours since we needed the door fixed before going on vacation. Their pricing was very reasonable and I even got a senior discount. It is a family run business and they did an excellent job.

They did a great job. The amount of work should of taken two days but they performed it in one. They were very professional. They were clean and courteous and cut the amount of time it should of taken in half. Scheduling changed a little but they got straight to work and were done by 6pm.

Michael arrived within the time frame I was given by Doug on the day we agreed upon. Michael inspected the roof and the attic. He determined all the caulk was gone around the vent on the roof. He applied a sealant around the vent. He said there was no evidence of mold or water damage in the attic space (yea!) . He said if I hear any drips or see any leaks during the next heavy rain, the company would come back out. That's why I didn't rate the quality yet. Will have to wait and see I guess.
