We moved a large home on the hottest day of the year. The moving crew arrived on time. All furniture was padded and protected as well as the floors in both homes. The crew worked tirelessly in the heat. They were extremely professional, friendly, hard working and considerate of our home. Not one thing was broken or scratched. Highly recommend!

We are very pleased. We have not found any damage, not even a broken glass. Everything was delivered on schedule and quickly. The movers helped place every major piece of furniture and placed all the boxes in the rooms specified on each box. We would recommend Boerman for any moving or storage needs.

Very well. The packers did an excellent job, packing everything in one day. Nothing broken or damaged so far. Some of our furniture and boxes were moved to a house we already owned. The movers did a great job of moving boxes and placing furniture. Some of our things are in storage for a move later this year. They did a great job getting them out of the house. We will see how things are when we get moved into the new house.

Boerman did an outstanding job moving us from our large home to an apartment in the city. Mike Boerman responded promptly to my request for a quote, and stopped by the next day to access our needs. He provided an amazingly accurate quote. The movers arrived promptly on moving day and quickly loaded the truck. They separated our items that were color-coded for STORAGE, and they made a stop along the way to our storage facility for drop-off. Once in the city, they expertly delivered items to the correct room and rebuilt bed frames and shelves. Our moving team was wonderful and worked in a professional, courteous and friendly manner. I would definitely use Boerman for our next move.

Boerman was fantastic - excellent service, responsiveness, and customer service. I was well informed throughout my entire move. They willingly answered every question I had about the move, and were very willing to work with us to fit our schedule constraints. Movers themselves were very professional, friendly, and took great care of our belongings and home. Highly recommend!

We'd never done a long distance move before and were pretty nervous about how things would go. A friend of ours recommended Boerman/Bekins after a good experience with them, so we called for an estimate. We knew some of our belongings would have to go into storage because we were moving to a smaller house. While he was at our old address to give us an estimate for the move, Mike Boerman assured us he would find a suitable storage facility near our new address, and it turned out to be located about a mile away from the new address--very convenient. The estimate Mike gave us for the move was generally in line with 3 other estimates we received, but his willingness to do the research on storage facilities, plus the recommendation from our friend, sealed the deal. He also recommended a car transport company to deliver our 2 cars from IL to WA. Pam Morris was our moving coordinator--she answered many questions for us and was even able to give us 2 days worth of wiggle room in our move date when our closing was delayed and we fell behind in packing. Our thanks to her for that! Our driver was Mark--very organized and efficient. 27 years experience--he knows what he's doing and I would recommend him too. He knew exactly when he would arrive at the new address, called us the day before to confirm, and arrived exactly when he said he would. The move-out and move-in crews were quick and efficient--they seem to have remarkable memories about what was going into the new house vs. what was going into storage and I have a lot of respect for them--they are all hard workers! We moved from a 2500 sq ft home, and it took about 8 hrs to move/organize everything into the truck. We had packed over 90% of our things ourselves ahead of time, and the crew packed a large glass coffee table top and a large dresser mirror on moving day. They also disassembled and reassembled several pieces of furniture-- a king bed, 2 dining tables, bookcases, and a desk. When we arrived at the new address, it took about 3 hrs to move about half our things into the home, and another 1.5 hrs to move the remainder into storage. We had 1 casualty in the move--a glass lamp shade--that it turns out is easy to replace. I didn't expect everything to arrive perfectly, so 1 small loss is not a reason to lower my recommendation.

The work went very well. All employees were courteous, worked well and took care of my possessions. The LHT, Mark P., was especially helpful and friendly. There was a bit of a snafu within the office as to the timing of my move (it was changed by one day but that news apparently was not communicated fully within the office staff), however that was corrected the same day. The offered pricing was the best proposed and suggestions as to ways to save were offered! A small reduced price was ultimately charged due to my shipment being of slightly less weight than estimated. I can not confirm that all box contents arrived perfectly as my things went primarily into storage but the care taken to place my things into storage safely was very good. This firm definitely deserves to be one you receive a quote from if you are moving from the Chicago area.

We always encourage customers to do a final walk through of the home to be sure we have everything on the moving van. In the future, we will encourage our drivers and crews to have the customer do an extra walk through to be sure we have everything loaded. Moving is stressful, especially when you have been in the same residence for over 30 years. We had hoped to make the process a little less stressful on you. Trevor (sales rep) was very personable, looked in and around my home, sat down and gave me a quote. Happy with the quote a few days later I scheduled my move and on the appointed day waited for the movers to arrive. Scheduled for 9AM they showed up at 9:30, no big deal. As soon as the truck pulled up I could tell that it was much too small to fit all of my furniture and voiced my concern to the foreman. The quote was for 4 movers, only three showed up, but that did not stop the foreman from writing four names on the invoice as to who would be working that day in my home. The move went well, the men were friendly and accommodating and when the truck was full they jumped in and started to go to my new home, well, one problem, they didn't move everything from my home, the garage or load my patio set. As I was running after the truck saying "excuse me, how about the rest," I was told, "well, I guess we'll have to come back tomorrow." Great, let's see what the new home owner has to say about that. At my new home the movers unloaded my items and finished at 7:15, a long day for them which probably would not have been that long if they had arrived on time and a forth mover had actually showed up. I paid the foreman in full and he arranged to meet me at the other house the next morning. The next day the foreman and his helper showed up, moved the items onto the truck drove to my new home, I helped them unload, and then it happened, he presented me with another bill for $300.00. After my eyes stopped spinning I said flat out, "I paid you over $2300 yesterday to do the job (which included a $215 charge for driving 4.5 miles to my new home), it is not my fault that it was not done properly the first time." Well, the very nice foreman turned into a rude demanding tool blaming me for the first move taking too long, I'm not kidding. After he stormed out Boerman's dispatcher called a few minutes later to see if I would pay at least half of the new bill because the foreman should at least be paid for his time. I thought the movers were paid employees of Boerman's, but I guess not. After refusing once again I asked him to check the invoice and tell me what he saw and after a little stammering he put me on hold. When he came back on the line the dispatcher actually tried to convince me that I probably just didn't notice the fourth man or that maybe he only worked half the day - seriously? I called Trevor to express my displeasure and he said that he was sorry, would look into it and get back to me. Never happened.

I apologize that there was some confusion about the truck size and number of movers. The truck that we sent should have had ample space to hold all of the items originally estimated to be moved by us. On the original estimate, the salesperson had noted that "The customer will be moving a lot of craft supplies and smaller items herself prior to the move date". It appears that list of items that we were originally supposed to move increased in between the date that we gave you the estimate and the date we actually performed your move. Were you able to get all of the craft supplies and smaller items moved yourself prior to the move date? Even with the added items, the final price still came within $125 of your original estimate. (Original estimate was $2227 and final price was $2351). Moving is very stressful and I apologize were not able to make it a more pleasurable experience for you. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with. We hope you enjoy your new home! Mike B."

Exceptional service. Started with Mike coming to my home to explain process, show samples of padding and how furniture would be protected. I had already hired a different moving company but based on Mike's services along with his explanation of insurance coverage I switched. Boerman's insurance cost for full replacement was 1/3rd less than other service saving me over $1000. The crew of 6 were friendly, patient, careful and actually a lot of fun. It turned out to be a great day!

After interviewing a total of five companies for our local house move, we decided on Boerman-Bekin moving. How do you find the right movers? For us, it came down to watching how they do their quote and listening to the commentary that they offer. Mike Boerman came and provided our quote (using an iPad and producing a professional quote) but also gave us advice on how to prepare for the moving day. By partnering with Mike, we were able to pack more efficiently and actually reduced our final bill by about 20% from the original quote. The day of the move, the crew was prompt and very courteous. First, they walked through the house to understand the layout, and then got right to work loading the truck. On the other end, they followed a similar procedure by familiarizing themselves with the layout and then unloading. There were no long breaks – their goal was the same as our which is to get this done in a day. Nearing completion, the crew was exceptional about helping us set-up our furnishings in the new house – right down to helping put felt pads on the furniture legs to prevent damage to the new floors. We highly recommend that you consider Boerman-Bekin.

We moved from a house in IL to a storage facility in NC while waiting for our house in NC to close. Joe Hagemaster was great to work with in giving us the in home estimates. Frank Ortiz did a great job coordinating, & Jason was a good driver who was on time and proactive with delivery timing. Also, the onsite movers did a nice job taking apart the furniture & loading it up into the massive moving truck. I was impressed!

I was impressed with Boerman from the quote process throughout the move. The process was straightforward and easy to understand -- and I felt like Mike Boerman was a trustworthy person. We hired Boerman to move several pieces of furniture, rugs, and larger boxes from a home in the suburbs to a condo downtown. The items were carefully wrapped and secured in the truck. The team worked efficiently and asked me questions when they were unsure of what needed to be moved (I didn't mark things clearly, I just grouped items into certain rooms), I appreciated that they stopped to ask questions when needed vs. leaving/moving something unintended. The team was easy to work with once at the condo as well, helping to re-position some pieces as needed since I wouldn't be able to do it on my own once they were gone. Overall I was pleased with the moving services and would hire Boerman again in the future.
