INTERSERVICE HEATING & COOLING

WOW. HORRIBLE FIRST EXPERIENCE. Our A/C blew out and our home warranty company connected us to them. Interservice Heating and Cooling claims to have emergency service and yet they said they couldn't come until two days later after we called. A confirmation phone call from them told us a technician would come between 8am and 10am. After two days of sweltering heat, radio silence. We waited during that time and called to double check if they were actually coming. Right around 10am, we received a text from them now saying someone will arrive between 8am and 12pm. Frustrating. WORSE, the technician finally comes, had absolutely no PPE or sense of social distancing, and when we told them our HVAC is on the roof (we live in a condo building), they said they were scared of heights and immediately LEFT. HE LEFT. No apology, nothing. Interservice Heating and Cooling, you claim to be HVAC professionals. You are based in the Chicagoland area. Most HVACs are on the roof of most buildings. How can you have technicians who are not prepared for this? And to just leave without providing a solution? It should have been clear from your lack of an actual website or presence on yelp, but it was made more clear with this interaction. You are extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend you to anyone. That employee should not be working with you or any HVAC company and we will be reporting Interservice Heating and Cooling to the BBB.

Downstairs furnace stopped working the day before one of the coldest December days. Called HWA since it was covered under warranty and they said they'll send someone from Interservice to look at the unit. Interservice called the next days and said a tech will be there between 11-3. Tech shows up around 1. I wasn't home so my mom had to let her in. A part needed to be replaced (she's not sure which part he replaced) which he did quickly and answered some of the questions she had. Tech was professional and so far the furnace is running. Charge for replacing the part (which is suspect was the igniter) was $160 but only paid the $100 deductible because of the warranty.

It went really bad as the contractor was sold to HWA. He was not providing an independent opinion. During inspection, the contractor was not willing to believe that the AC unit needs to be replaced even after my consultation with Nicor and was not ready to provide warranty for the services to be performed which would prevent the leakage down the line. Please stay away from this company! Not recommended.

We absolutely love working with Vlodek.  He is honest, kind and thorough.  We have had him out to our house several times for heating/AC issues, as we had poor air flow in parts of our house, and a second heating unit for a sunroom that was giving us trouble.  
He always comes for a diagnosis in a timely manner, responds quickly via phone, email or text.  He has always given us several options for repair/replacement and let us know what would be an immediate concern, what would be the most efficient and affordable fix and what would absolutely need to be replaced.  
He and his son spent a long, hot day and evening working on our previously defunct. AC unit, and replaced it with a more energy efficient model.  The prices were very competitive, and his work and efforts were superb.  
We have recommended him to everyone in need of HVAC service, and he has also serviced my mother's furnace recently.  I highly, highly recommend using Interservice and will always give them a call first if we have any HVAC trouble in the future.

The service went great. The technician did an awesome and thorough job. He took his time to explain everything to us. He was very knowledgeable and really taught me a lot. He addressed some other potential issues in the future and made some good recommendations. He was punctual and followed up with quotes in writing.

Technicians did everything necessary to restore heat to entire old house, including locating piping in attic. Obtained parts to fix old non-functioning boiler. Fixed heat supply to house that had not worked in over one year. Prior repair vendors missed the real problem and did minor fixes.
