EXCEL HEATING & COOLING

We have been using Excel Heating for over 20 years and have always received excellent service. This year it was time to replace our 29 year old air conditioner. We also decided to replace our furnace. Early May Andrew came out and replaced our old furnace and air conditioner. He did a very professional job. We have noticed that the air flow throughout our house has increased and is much cooler in the summer heat. However, it took him 3 days to complete the install. The first day he told us he would be here sometime between 7:30 and 8:00 am, but did not get here until about 10:00 am. The second day he arrived after 10:30 am. The third day he told us he would be here between 11 and noon. He called and said he was running late because another job was taking longer than he anticipated. and would be here about 2:00 pm. Then he called at 3:00 to say a gauge he needed to calibrate the new air conditioner was broken and had to pick up a new one. He finally got here about 6:00 pm. Our whole day wasted. He did get our systems working, but still had to come back to finish the job. He promised to call the next Monday or Tuesday. That took over 2 weeks. He did come back and installed the humidifier and fixed the registers. That was 2 weeks ago, and he still needs to replace an airduct and give us the information for getting a rebate from ComEd. He said he was going to come June 13th between 11 and 3, but never called and did not show up. We wasted a whole day waiting for him. This job is taking over a 3 months. As of July 23rd the job is still mot complete. I guess because we are old customers and retired, the small part he special ordered is just not important enough to complete the job. So, if you not in a hurry to get the job completed Excel will get you the correct equipment and properly installed. One last note. Because of the delays, he did offer to give us a free fall tune-up and the humidifier at cost.

I came home from an appointment Sunday evening on Father's Day and noticed my house felt very warm, and my dog looked miserable.  I checked the thermostat, and the current temp was registering several degrees higher than what it was set to on the program.  I checked the AC unit and it was running but not providing any cool air.  In fact, no air was coming out of the vents.  I left a message for Excel Heating & Cooling on the general mailbox.  Since I have fans and it cooled down in the evening, I didn't try for emergency service.  They called me back at 7:30 am Monday morning, and a technician was at my home by 9 am.  The technician was prompt, courteous, and even played with my nosy dog (she likes to supervise).   Turns out my AC had frozen up because it was very low on freon.  He defrosted and cleaned the unit then filled it with freon.   My dog welcomed the cool air again!   I've used this company for rental properties at a previous job and furnace service at my home.  Each time, I experienced the same prompt and courteous service.  Their prices are also reasonable.  I highly recommend them.

I called Excel, Tom the owner said they would be out in a couple hours. Tom, showed up right on schedule, performed the work quickly, and explained the problems.

TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND PERFORMED WORK QUICKLY. TECHNICIAN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.
