"Thank you, very much [Member Name Removed]. It was a pleasure working with you!"
Of the 3 estimates we got, they were not the cheapest, however, their knowledge and thoroughness (e.g., buildiing drywall boxes around can light boxes) is by far what tipped us in their direction. That, plus they were able to build a nicely constructed storage surface for us, placed where it would be accessible, and interfere minimally with our insulation needs.
We will definitely recommend them to others for this type of job.
They were phenomenal from the start. They came out in a couple days of the initial call and we went over the problem areas we were looking to solve. The top one being a very cold master bedroom above the garage. They drilled test holes in the garage sealing to find there was insulation in the rafters, but a 6 inch space between the insulation and the floor of the room above. They also looked at the knee wall and attic. They quoted to blow and pack insulation in the knee wall, attic and garage. We were going from an R9 to R42. I had received a quote last year from a different company for insulating the knee wall and attic for $6000. The other company told me there was nothing that could be done about the master bedroom above the garage.
We accepted the quote and they came out about 3 weeks later. 3 people were onsite and the original estimator was there to tell them exactly what was quoted. As they started the work, they found an additional area that we thought was inaccessible as it was an addition. We immediately added it to the work for a few hundred dollars.
They did a great job. They were clean, courteous, and knowledgeable. They measured air flow before and after the job and there was a 24% reduction in the house. The house feels warmer and more insulated. I felt we received a fair price for good quality work.
Everyone we talked with - from the initial estimator to the scheduler to the team that did the actual work -- were most responsive.
Starting with the estimator, unlike two other contractors I contacted (which also had high Angie's List scores), there was never an attempt to and quot;up-selland quot;. Think the name was Jim. Whoever it was, he took the time to explain to me - and very patiently to my wife who had many questions -- the benefits and costs of various options.
The installers were very careful and did a wonderful cleanup after the work was done. How well the siding pieces went back up was not an issue for us as we knew that once the windows were replaced, the siding was going to be replaced. Hence, I cannot speak to that aspect of the work. But given how careful they were with everything else, I would think that they would be good at that as well
My upstairs used to be very hot in the summer, now it is amazingly comfortable. Great job!
"Thanks so much for the kind review !"
