My daughter needed the bike for a "bike to school day" Wilmette cycle were able to get the bike done for the event even though they were quoting a later date.

We saw Larry about a bicycle. He took us into the store room to show us all the different options. He explained the difference between each bike. He also asked my wife about what her usage would be. He gave us a few options at different price points and advised us as to the difference between them. Larry then prepared each bike so that my wife could ride each around for a while. There was no pressure. My wife went back a few times before deciding. Larry then had the bike prepared for sale. It is a great bike that is very comfortable to ride. I much prefer local businesses and this is one. It is a family run business and each owner takes pride in what they do and works hard to make sure each sale is the right one at a fair price for the customer.

I put in the price of the bike that we purchased from them above, but the fact is, the service they provide is first rate and cost us nothing... We had had my daughter's bike about a year (her first 10 speed bike) before realizing that something was truly wrong with the gears. I was expecting to be told that I had waited too long to complain and was prepared to pay for whatever service was recommended. But when I told them (Jim) my story he dropped what he was doing and started fixing the bike. It was ready an hour later and he charged me nothing. That is why it's so good to have these small town shops like this - when you need them, they're there for you!

The guy told me it would be $80 for the reconditioning, plus whatever the new tubes would be. When I arrived to pick it up, there was no organization at all. People were standing around, butting in line, one was even complaining that she'd been there 15 minutes and no one had even asked to help her. I finally got someone to help me. There was no real system for finding the bike - he kept saying, "Is that it?" - finally we found it. The tubes were done, but it had not been reconditioned! I just took it and went. Also, the new bike we bought has a problem with the gears and we haven't had time to take it in to complain. After my last experience, I'm not looking forward to it.
