Terrific! Kirk, the owner, was referred to me by my plumber. My heating system, after God knows how many years of faithful service, decided to commit several kinds of hari-kari, all within a few days. First it was the radiator--got a new one installed by a radiator guy. After that, the expansion tank, no doubt with the renewed pressure of being turned on, did it's best Old Faithful imitation, and spewed water all over my basement. Here's where Kirk and his partner came in--I gave him a call, texted him some pictures of the offending article, and he was over there the next morning to install a new one, thereby restoring heat and domestic harmony. Then, the next day, one of the valves on the boiler decided to imitate it's cousin, and overnight deposited yet more gallons of water everywhere, so again, off with the boiler--no heat--called Kirk. He came over that night about 8:00--this guy works all the TIME!--and had a look. It couldn't be fixed that night, as he said the piece was so old, if he tried to tighten it, it looked like it would shatter, sending yet another cascade of water into the already soaked carpet. We made plans for him to return the following morning, proper parts in hand. As it turns out, he couldn't as he was under a time crunch for the job he was working at--but here's the great thing: as soon as he knew he couldn't make it that day, he let me know, so I could plan my schedule accordingly. That's my big beef with contractors of all types: half of them don't show up when they say they will, and don't let you know. Not so, Kirk. He kept me in the loop the entire time, and was here this morning, just when he said he would be, and finished the job to perfection--my heating system is humming along happily. Would I recommend Kirk? You bet--punctual, professional, courteous, returns phone calls and texts immediately, and no surprises when it comes to pay the bill. His quote is exactly what it cost, no 'well, we ran into some problems, so it'll be a little more than the original quote.' The other great thing about Kirk and his partner: they are self-employed, and travel as far north as Wisconsin, all the way to the south suburbs and Indiana, as well as the Western 'burbs. And, because there is no boss or big company looking over their shoulder and urging them to upsell the customer, they only do the work that is necessary, at a fair price. I'm a fan!
