Prompt, efficient, clean and courteous. McDaniel Electric came to my house to upgrade my can lighting to LED and to replace my switches and outlets to more modern functioning and looking ones. They were very helpful on the phone before the appointment, came promptly and did excellent work. I will use them again and highly recommend

I have never posted a negative review on Angie's List before this one. McDaniel was unable to fix the problem and said that they didn't have and couldn't locate the materials to do so. However, they charged me $616 for their services. I called another electrician, who worked with ComEd to find what was really a very simple solution to the problem for less than half of what McDaniel charged me for NOT fixing. My sister had warned me not to use them, since apparently the service has significantly declined since the elder Mr. McDaniel is not longer there. I should have listened to her, but instead I am out over $600 to them for not solving the problem. When I called to discuss the problem and expressly asked them to call me back, I did not get a return phone call for over a month. I am sure that the only reason I got a return call was that I hadn't paid my bill and was waiting to talk to them first. Mike McDaniel did not offer any kind of a discount, and did not even apologize for not returning my call. Very disappointed in my serve with them.

Very well, nice clean job

We had a couple of odd jobs that needed to be done  - door bell repair, and a repair on an exhaust fan in a powder room.  We contacted McDaniel's Electric and they came out quickly and got to work right away.  The exhaust fan was no longer in stock as it was 20 years old.  Instead of cutting into the ceiling a new opening to fit the new styles, they offered to do a little research and just get the replacement parts. So, my fan is refurbished and works great.  The doorbell on this old house gave up - I wanted a simple solution. Wireless doorbell - works excellently. The service was professional and considerate, and clean!

I’ve been using them for 40 years.  They do consistent work, they’re prompt, and clean.  They come very quickly.

Efficient ,great problem solver and extremely professional

As I understand it, this is a father/son operation with the son having taken over the business. Years ago the son performed work and this time the father did the work. He was timely, professional and walked us through whatever questions we had. He provided options where we had options. He knocked off the long list and the pricing was very fair.

They identified the problem quickly and repaired it promptly and a a fair price.

Mr. McDaniel responded promptly with a phone call and on-site hand-written estimate. He scheduled the job at my convenience and worked alone continuously and hard for at least two days (I no longer remember how long it took).

Two men came to do this simple job. My mistake was that I had not asked for a price. It took approximately 15 minutes. The bill was $75. The light was not set properly so the detector did not operate unless you were within a few feet of the light. We had to adjust the light that night to have it work properly. The office sent men out within a day of my phone call.

THEY WERE CLEAN AND EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH OUR PROJECT. THEY WERE VERY HONEST.

McDaniel Electric is also trustworthy, competent, and professional. We've used them before a # of times. We like how he explains with clarity what's going on with various electrical issues because it helps us understand our electrical system as a whole. With the most recent service, he allowed us to dig our own trench which saved us money on his services. He was on time (as usual) and even may have completed his work early (with him and an apprentice). Routinely quality service.

He came in and reviewed our A/C unit and electrical main. Did an excellent job. In addition to fixing our one problem, he found (2) other safety issues that he corrected without additional costs.

Team was on time, got right to work, worked without taking breaks, new exactly what to do and got everything done quickly and efficiently. Excellent job- very happy with service.

The electrician did an excellent job explaining what he did and why, which gave me confidence in the work. He did the work without damage to the surrounding plaster, which saved me from having to repaint!

Did work promptly and neatly. We felt that the cost was a bit high, ended up costing more than the fans.

THIS IS ONE OF TWO ELECTRICIANS THAT WE USE REGULARLY. THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY, AND ON TIME.
