Turned out to be more involved than a simple rodding because very old fittings were frozen. Had to use a sawsall to remove drain pipe. Fortunately, Dave, the plumber, had all necessary fittings on his truck. He efficiently rodded the drain line and replaced the fittings. He also did a thorough clean-up and tested the sink and drain pipe for leaks. Job well done!

Same day service. They called and showed up within the time frame given. Two guy job. They thought to roto the cleanout from street level to the house. That took 2 hours. Many roots came up. Problem was still not solved. They had to come inside and take toilet off and roto from the hole, and they got a lot of tree roots from there too. Finally problem solved. They made minimal mess for the job done, and it really was physically intense to get those roots out. I appreciated the efforts of Dave and Justin. Dave really works physically hard, and he made sure everything was working properly.

No one called me on the day of the appointment with a service window or time. I had to call the office. They told me that "Bruce" was out on call and would call me when he could come. Two hours later, Bruce called and said he was on his way. When he arrived, he confirmed the leak was from the rusted bracket connection of the disposal to the under sink ring. He removed the disposal and said it wasn't worth keeping and that he could go back to the office and get a new disposal. I told him to proceed to re-attach the drain without a disposal as it wasn't used much in the past. He got the necessary parts from his van and installed them. After he was finished, I noticed that the spray attachment hose was under the drain pipes, limiting its use, and had to be removed, reconfigured above the pipes and reattached using some of the existing pipes. I showed him an Angie's List 5% off coupon I'd printed and he deducted that from the bill. Total time: 1 1/4 hrs. @ $145 per hr. Total parts (new strainer, tail pipe, extension pipe): $70 (way over-priced). Paid with credit card.

I had a few plumbers look at my plumbing situation and most of them made the job sound really complicated and tedious. They were talking about having to cut out the copper drain line and work with the little space they would have left after adding the adapter fitting. One plumber basically gave me the run around and said he was not available for the job. Another priced the job too high in my opinion. Michael from Lucke Plumbing came in and looked at the job and said it should not be a problem. He mentioned that he would remove the copper drain from the fitting (which the other plumbers said could not be done) and install an adapter. Their price was also the best. The job was started and finished the same day they quoted the price. Everything went as well as it could have.

Our experience with Lucke Plumbing was a complete disaster. I am writing this review about 18 months after our project was started  because I am finally so fed up with everything they did wrong that I cannot find any more excuses for why their work was so poor. Our issues with this company fit in to areas:

1) 5-6 different plumbers worked on our project and their plumbing skills were hardly better than my own. And I know nothing about plumbing, but I know how to do things right when it comes to my own trade. I also have common sense to see when someone has no idea about the work they do.

2) Over the course of the project, as things were going wrong, we contacted the owner multiple times and asked for more experienced plumbers to be sent on site, but Scott kept sending the same crew over and over again.

Here is a laundry list of things that went wrong from the beginning 18 months ago, till last night when we discovered another problem that ruined one of our new kitchen cabinets.

DURING THE PROJECT:

1) Our drawings for the master bathroom shower included two shower heads, a hand-held one and a stationary one. When the plumbers started the work on the shower, I left all the necessary hardware for them so they can start building all the plumbing lines. Since this was my first remodeling experience and I tend to trust people I hire or work with, I did not pay close attention to what the plumbers were doing till the shower was tiled. I was shocked to realize after a few days, that the plumbers completely forgot to build a line for one of the heads so they had to rip out one of my bedroom walls to correct the problem from the back of the shower.

2) In this same shower, Lucke Plumbing had to install a Hansgrohe mixer/water controls which has a special button to prevent users from burning themselves with hot water. These guys had no clue how to install this, but never asked anybody for help. They just installed the fixture and did not care that the functionality was not working.

3) One of the plumbers was supposed to install a garbage disposal in the kitchen. He sat in front of our kitchen sink cabinet for 8 hours one day unable to install it. He made numerous calls for help from his co-workers and still could not do a thing with it. He did not make one step of progress that day in 8 solid ours. Finally, he said he had to take our garbage disposal and bring one from their supply store since he could not install ours. It took him another full day to install even the one he brought. This same guy installed our new dish washer which was so crooked that even our 6 year old daughter asked why it was sitting the way it was.

A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED:

4) We found a water leak in a drawer under one of the bathroom sinks. I knew exactly where the drip was, but the same plumber who did the kitchen disposal came and left after telling me the problem was condensation on the pipes. I let him leave without the work done only because I wanted him out of my house. I could not stand dealing with him any longer. Scott, the owner, had to send him back again a few days later after I had a fan running in the bathroom and we waited for a day with low humidity. (We had A/C running all along, but they had me jump through hoops.) At that time they finally fixed the leak I pointed out the first time.

LAST NIGHT (ONLY 18 MONTHS AFTER THE NEW KITCHEN WAS INSTALLED):

5) I opened the kitchen cabinet under the sink only to find a huge puddle of water underneath. One of the junctions that leads from the disposal to the main plumbing line started leaking suddenly. I have owned places where nothing like this happened in 15 years I owned them. However, those places were probably not done by Lucke Plumbing. On top of this leak, I also noticed that the water line that leads to the dish washer has a minor leak too. I could not believe my eyes. The kitchen cabinet is ruined and probably cannot be replaced.

For anyone looking for a plumber, I would suggest never hiring these guys despite the A's they have in these reviews. My project was done by at least 6 different guys from this company and none of them deserve anything more than a D. You never know who they will send your way. I don't even want to call Lucke Plumbing back to tell them about the latest leak because I do not want them in my house at all. I just wish there was a way to charge for all the damage that they have done along the way,

I explained that I had already used a couple plumbers and didn't want to waste more time and money. They assured me that they would not overcharge and would keep things to a minimum. They were on another job so things would move slower then normal which I agreed to...
What I didn't agree to is charging me over $700 to rod a line which I had already said others had tried. I feel they said whatever I wanted to hear so they could get some of that money I was wasting.
I have tried to call the supervisor who assured me that they weren't going to waste my time and money and nothing. I've called several times over the course of a couple weeks. (because of the other more important job, i gave him the benefit of the doubt)
I want him to call me and explain why he things charging me $700 is ok when I told him I had already spent money hiring other plumbers to fix the drainage.

Two other plumbers had incorrectly diagnosed the problem, resulting in water damage in our
basement. Marc called, came by, asked precise questions, and fixed the
problem within 10 minutes! I was amazed. I'll be calling them from now

Long overdue review from us on some terrific work done by a group of great guys. We worked with Scott and Mack on a couple of projects after moving into the house - approx July 2013 and March 2014.   Remodeled our main floor and basement bathrooms plus replaced water lines with new copper.  Scott was very thorough, explained things well, and was always patient, giving us a variety of options and price ranges for each project to work with our budget.  Mack and all the guys involved in the remodeling and new plumbing did solid work and were always helpful toward my wife with cleaning up each day and even at times scheduling noisier work for the day to be done as we had a couple of our boys under 3 yrs old and still napping.  We were very happy across the board with their work and will definitely continue to call them for plumbing or another remodel job when we get around to it.

Lucke Plumbing was very responsive, very punctual and called, as requested, before arrival.  Greg and Shawn thoroughly investigated the problem and when another piece of equipment was needed, they quickly picked it up and returned to finish the job.  Both Greg and Shawn filled me in on their findings and explained the problems.  I feel the price was very fair and they worked quickly to solve the problem.

Called them to come out and give an estimate that another plumbing company gave me. I think Dave/Bob came out look at the thing and confirmed it. But he then tried retrieving the spring that had broken off and went down the drain. The previous plumber was not able to retrieve said spring. Dave/Bob asked if I had a wire hanger and he was able to retrieve the spring in less than 20 minutes! Plus he pulled up a ton of hair from the drain. He was a miracle worker!!!

Calle this morning and phone was answered by Bob. Very friendly and helpful. Sent the picture of my problem to him and within 4 hours they had a guy on the job! So pleased with Mike! he explained the problem and how he would repair it. Gave me the part that was the cause of the leak. Repaired the area and I am so pleased with his work! cleaned up after too! Such a nice company to work with! I called in to the office and paid over the phone and the woman in the office was just as pleasant as the first two people I talked to. They have my business for life!
I will have them do all my plumbing repairs and pass their name on to my Angie friends and others too!
