John Plunkett Interiors

Many months ago, we went to Plaza del Lago in Wilmette, IL. While driving around the mall, we saw a store whose name looked very familiar - John Plunkett Interiors. So many quality furniture stores in the Chicagoland area had closed in the last few years. So, we were very happy to see that Plunkett had opened a new furniture store again. We were very impressed with the furniture we saw in the store. We wanted someone to come to our condo to take a look at the layout and offer suggestions. Valerie Plunkett and one of the associates, Liz, came to our three-bedroom condo to take a look at the layout. We needed pictures on the walls; a chair in front of the secretary, reupholstering of an existing chair, custom pillows for the couch, and a parsons table for the living room; a mirror for over the fireplace and one in the entrance hallway; a curio cabinet for our den; a media dresser for one of the bedrooms; and suggestions for remodeling our entrance hallway. They took pictures and dimensions of the rooms and offered suggestions not only on the furniture but also on moving a couple of pictures for better placement. They were extremely thorough. We went into the store a few more times to see their recommendations. We met with John and/or Valerie Plunkett who showed us their suggestions from their books of furniture. They were extremely helpful and took a lot of time with us. We ordered our furniture and pictures and our delivery was on November 25, 2014. Not only were the delivery men at our house, but the owner, John Plunkett, came to oversee the job. We were speechless when we saw him. In all the years we have bought furniture, not once have I seen our salesperson or store owner come to the house when the furniture was delivered. John helped place the furniture in its proper place and, even, placed the shelves in the curio cabinet to accommodate the height of our art pieces. He looked at the furniture to make sure nothing was damaged and did not leave until the after the delivery men left. Also, Valerie and John told us that they would come back to the condo to hang our pictures in the various rooms. The following week, in between their busy schedules, they came back to arrange our pictures. Everything they did from our initial meeting to putting up our pictures was first rate. We are still not finished because we plan to purchase other items from them to complete the apartment. We have already been recommending them to our friends and telling them how very pleased we were with the furniture and the service. John and Valerie Plunkett offer high quality furniture for an affordable price. We would highly recommend John Plunkett Interiors to anyone who wants quality furniture and personalized service.
