Modern Day Comfort rocks! Kraig is among the top 1% of contractors who have done work on any of my homes over the past 30 years. He's come over when our heat went out late at night without being asked. He's honest and shows up on time for his regularly-scheduled maintenance. He's also incredibly intelligent (he found a mistake by the company that installed our home automation thermostats). I can't say enough good things about him.

It was absolutely excellent. I've used them for air conditioning tune-ups and heating. I would use them again. They were extremely knowledgeable, fast and efficient. It was done in no time. It was about what you expect to pay.

Kraig was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Without a doubt, thoroughly conscientious and professional in every way!
Mine was a vexing problem; at the start of the summer, when I first turned on the AC for our 2nd floor HVAC unit, I noticed that, although the unit was working, the refrigerant line to the compressor was becoming iced, as was the entire line all the way up to the furnace. Suspecting the unit was low on freon, I contacted Modern Day Comfort to check it out, and re-charge as necessary. Kraig did the re-charge, which initially solved the problem, but was required to return within a few days when the icing continued.
Kraig and I were puzzled as to what was causing the problem, but agreed that the furnace coil was likely failing (since it was 24 years old), and it was then replaced. However, the problem persisted. To make a long story shorter, Kraig went above and beyond my expectations to analyze the root cause of the problem, spending approx. 10 - 15 hours cleaning the lines, the compressor, soliciting tech. support from various sources, replacing all refrigerant in the lines, and trouble-shooting the furnace....all at no additional charge. He repeatedly stated that he would NOT recommend any further corrective measures until he was sure that the problem would be fixed.
Ultimately, the problem was narrowed down to either a faulty thermostat (it had been replaced over the winter) and/or faulty relays on the furnace control board. After replacement of the thermostat and cleaning of the contact relays, the problem was finally resolved!
This situation might have tempted other service personnel to take a and quot;shotgunand quot; approach, possibly
replacing the compressor, furnace, lines, basically everything, in the hope that the problem would and quot;go awayand quot;, but at a very high price! Kraig displayed uncommon honesty and professionalism in resisting that approach, which resulted in a more certain solution, and a MUCH more satisfied customer.
Bottom line, Modern Day Comfort will be my preferred HVAC company for any service in the future, and is HIGHLY recommended!

Very professional. Always called ahead and was prompt every time. Finished the installation in 2 days. The village inspector commented that it was an excellent job, all within codes. Payment options were available. Price was compared to 3 bids and his was very good for the unit I purchased. I will be calling them in the future for our AC needs.

I was referred to Kraig initially by a good friend of mine. The week prior I had lined up estimates from some of the larger and favorable Angie's List HVAC installers in the area. The lowest quote was Four Seasons, but after reading up on them more I was worried about going with them and Kraig was the most knowledgeable person who I dealt with during the estimate process. Everybody else sends out a sales rep who basically looks at what size you have, what they have and the best price for their stuff. They aren't looking at it like an installer to truly understand the unique needs of the house. Kraig brought up a lot of specific things that needed to be done that were unique to our house and nobody else brought these up.
Ultimately I upgraded the furnace and the AC to a better series, spending more than the estimate, but after talking to Kraig about it, it was a much better investment. The and quot;valueand quot; lines that every company quotes are generally good for house flippers and not the best for long term HVAC needs of a house.
They were able to start the job within a week of the estimate, completed everything on time and my parents love it. Kraig is my new HVAC go to guy!

Modern Day Comfort were very responsive. They had actually done work for one of my neighbor's and I was able to see what they were doing. They were going to do the job and then we found out that all of our roofs were going to be replaced. They suggested waiting to replace the A/C unit till after the roof was replaced because otherwise they would charge me for taking the old one down and then coming back and putting the new one in once the roof was done, especially since the air would only be needed for a few more weeks. I really appreciated the advice and in the end that was the plan we went with.

Two of the workers from Modern Day Comfort (Angel and Rick) showed up on time on May 5th, 2012. They first disconnected the old air conditioning unit, then came inside and removed the old coil from my utility room. Then, the new coil was put in place inside and the new air conditioning until was put into place outside. Then everything was tested to make sure that it was working properly. It took them about 4 hours from start to finish -- just like they said it would!

Kraig was great. Showe dup on time, left the work area clean. A/c is nice and cold. I will use him for ever.

I needed a humidifier installed and I called several HVAC contractors for an estimate. Modern Day Comfort had the most polite and friendly service and was reasonably priced. They were on time the day they were scheduled. They finished in about 2 and half hours as promised. They cleaned up their mess. Friendly service all the way around.
