"The day I came out to inspect the leak initially, i had seen a few problems that could have been causing the issue. Marcia had told me that a few other companies had came out to do inspections as well and told her they would replace the entire flat roof and never mentioned the snow pocket above at all. my opinion was, in order to get the leak to stop, both issues, the siding near the flat area, and the snow pocket above, would have to be handled. Which is what happened. When my brother and I got to the house to make a material list and proceed to do the work on the original contract, my brother (who has more experience than myself in finding and fixing these types of issues) stated that removing the siding and re-flashing the wall would not be necessary to fix the leak, nor would removing the shingles in the upper snow pocket. the main problem was due to multiple openings in the metal flashing in the snow pocket above. This was told to Marcia before we even left to get the material. i had explained that we would still stop her leak, and caulk the vent she had asked for and fix any other issues that we had run across, as well as cap the three windows. we verbally agreed on a change in the contract, which later was changed in pen on the contract and initialed by myself and Marcia, and the price was dropped by $1,000.00 the leak is fixed, we ended up doing less work due to a more trained eye when it comes to finding and fixing issues, the windows are capped and there was a $1,000 deduction in price.I received the check in the full amount of the job before we left that day. Marcia ok'd the work and had no complaints until she contacted me, because her husband who was out of town said that we had overcharged her. The price for two crews to come out and do the work that was performed would be the same for any other customer. That is our price. She could have chosen to not go ahead with the work and shop around a bit more. This was not a scam, this was our prices being agreed to and signed off on and paid in full, then being complained about after the fact. May I also point out that the work we did was satisfactory per Marcia Chester. That is stated on Angie's List by her, herself. We could have done the work that was on the original contract, even tho it was unnecessary and taken her money. That would have been unfair. What i did was save her $1,000 and fix her problem. What i did, in my opinion, was the right thing to do, the fair thing to do. Jeremy Ramsey"
